IUCN is seeking a qualified individual to join in Bangladesh Country Office.

The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™ is widely recognized as the most comprehensive, objective global approach for evaluating the conservation status of plant and animal species. This study will update Red List for 7 groups of wildlife (Mammal, Reptile, Amphibians, Aves, Freshwater Fish, Crustacean and Butterfly), approximately, 1700 species in all. The goal of The IUCN Red List is “to provide information and analyses on the status, trends and threats to species in order to inform and catalyze action for biodiversity conservation”. Under the guidance of the Country Representative and Programme Coordinator, IUCN Bangladesh and the Project Manager, Updating Species Red List of Bangladesh; this position is responsible for providing necessary technical and logistic assistance for smooth implementation of the project in general and manage communication and outreach of the project in specific.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Masters in Communication & Journalism, English, MIS. Preference will be given to candidate with working in Wildlife field.
  • 4 to 5 years professional experience in communication and outreach of development organization.
  • Professional level of knowledge in English & Bengali.
  • Act as the Communication Focal Point and support strategic and yearly planning of communication for projects undertaken.
  • Implementation of knowledge and communication strategies for projects.
  • Produce high quality communications products in a range of formats including reports, speeches, presentations, publications, brochures, policy briefs, web stories, press releases, documentation etc.
  • Provide communications support for events, including documentation.
  • Manage web and digital resources.
  • Undertake any other tasks that may be assigned as and when deemed necessary.
