Status Survey and Development of Elephant Action Plan for Bangladesh project, IUCN Bangladesh

A unique international organisation, IUCN brings together states, government agencies & NGO members, & some 10,000 scientists & experts from 181 countries in a global web of networks to provide a neutral forum for dialogue & action on environment & sustainable development issues.

IUCN Bangladesh in close collaboration with Bangladesh Forest Department has taken initiative to assess present status of Asian elephant and to prepare an ‘Elephant Action Plan’ with a view to conserve this flagship species in Bangladesh. The project will start from June 2013 with the financial support from the World Bank.

The goal of the project is “To conserve Asian Elephants in Bangladesh for contributing to the biological diversity and ecological integrity of the country.

IUCN Bangladesh is now seeking applications from the qualified candidates for the following positions based in Dhaka with frequent field visit:

  1. Principal Investigator (Programme Officer)
  2. Wildlife Biologist
  3. Assistant Wildlife Biologist

Salary Range:

Principal Investigator (Programme Officer) BDT 85,984.00 - 128,976.00
Wildlife Biologist BDT 53,740.00 - 80,610.00
Assistant Wildlife Biologist BDT 44,604.00 - 66,906.00
