Job Purpose
This position will mainly provide support to research and management including report writing, communication with team members, coordination with stakeholders, organizing meeting/workshop under the project ACI-IRRI Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for Rice Breeding and Seed in Bangladesh. In addition the position will organize all research documents and reports.
Roles and Responsibilities
Purpose
- Support project management and research
- Data entry and management
- Monitor and maintain daily calendar of activities and assignments of the team
- Facilitate administrative requests related to IT, work orders, meetings, workshops and visit
- Coordinate maintenance of equipment
- Take minutes of meetings
Engagement
- Maintain project filing systems
- Organize research documents and reports
- Check and record files and process documents including Purchase Orders, travel documents, schedule of meetings, workshops, conferences
- Make travel arrangements and assist visitors when required
- Distribute information within the team members and others or to visitors as defined by supervisor
- Schedule meetings and visits and ensure relevant documentation
- Assist in monitoring budget and expenditure
- Process cash advance and prepare bills and charges for services
Delivery
- Assist in the coordination of events as requested by supervisor
- Provide logistic support for the participation of team members in defined events, schedule diverse appointments, meetings and travel arrangements
- Provide logistic support in organizing workshops, meetings and trainings
- Assist in liaising with partners and others by requesting additional information and sending information/invitations as necessary
- Check purchases against statements, maintain appropriate files
- Prepare statement from the established budgets
- Prepare draft for letter, documents, reports, etc. as per requirement
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor from time to time
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Agriculture, Management, Communication or related field with 2 years of relevant work experience; or
- Master degree in the above fields with 1 year of relevant work experience

- Has basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Has excellent oral and written communication skills, communicates status of work regularly and in a timely manner
- Has good interpersonal skills
- Has good organizational skills
- Is proactive
Preferred
- Preference is given to those who has experience of working with an international organizations
- Who has qualification or experience in agricultural fields
Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh
Salary Ranges: Basic (27,083 - 52,517) BDT per Month
Other Benefits: Housing Allowance: 30% of base pay per month, Transport Allowance: 12000 BDT, Festival Bonus: 2 times each year, Retirement Fund, Returning Mother Allowance: BDT-1,000 per month for 9 months to female employees post-delivery of a baby to support return to the workplace, Medical insurance coverage: maximum US$16,000/year and other admissible benefits. |
