Ipas is an international NGO with a mission of reducing maternal deaths and disabilities from unsafe abortion and improving women’s reproductive health and rights. Founded in 1973, Ipas works in 19 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The international headquarter of Ipas is based in North Carolina, USA. Ipas has started working in Bangladesh in July 2011.

Ipas Bangladesh is seeking applications from hardworking, sincere and cheerful individuals for the following positions for its country program:

Project Assistant (01 Position based in Cox’s Bazar) for four months starting from mid of January 2019.

Job Summary:

Project Assistant – Mobile App for Rohingya Refugees project will be responsible for planning, coordination and providing support for implementation of the field level activities of the project in the camps for Rohingya Refugees. S/he will also coordinate with project coordinator and other staff members of Ipas Bangladesh.   

Major Responsibilities

  • Be the “ambassador” of the intervention in the community;
  • Train CHWs and community leaders on the ground (doctors, imams, majhis);
  • Purchase necessary items to run activities;
  • Observe and help facilitate (a sample of) activities (game play, CHW counseling, FP day);
  • Provide feedback to activity facilitators and coordinators in order to ensure continuous improvement in delivery;
  • Raise issues to Project Coordinator and help brainstorm solutions;
  • Proactively suggest and implement changes to improve the activities;
  • Collect feedback sheets, attendance sheets, clinic records, and other data collection mechanisms implemented by the intervention;
  • Center information from data collection mechanisms into spreadsheet.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor in any discipline
  • Experience in the camp setting;
  • Able to be based full-time in Cox’s Bazar for the duration of the pilot;
  • Experience running training;
  • Able to use data entry software, such as Excel
  • Able to understand Rohingya community and interested in improving her/his understanding;
  • Understand qualitative research
  • Fluent in local language (including able to communicate with Rohingya population), Bangla and English
  • Good computer skills.

Salary & Benefit

Monthly consolidated salary for the position will be BDT 50,000 - 60,000 depending upon experience and qualification.
