Position Title: Shift Electrician
Department: Engineering
Overall responsible for: Under the guidance of the Shift/Deputy Engineer, operates, maintains and repairs all aspects of the Hotels systems in accordance with IHG standards to achieve optimum operating efficiency of equipment at all times.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Carries out routine maintenance and repairs to all types of electrical equipment such as laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment including motors and motor controls, fans, water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, and emergency generators.
- Attends to repair and maintenance of transformers and electrical low-tension panels.
- Attends to electrical and ancillaries installations such as audio/video cables, computer cables and MATV systems.
- Attends to all types of repair and maintenance work in the hotel premises, including any new additional/extensions to the hotel or any other properties maintained by the hotel.
- Responds to a guest maintenance request within 15 minutes on receipt of the same.
- Ensures that the supplied uniform is clean and in good repair. Always maintain a clean and tidy appearance before entering a guest or public areas.
- Ensures that the plant room, workshop and related areas are kept clean and tidy condition.
- Observes prescribed safety standards. Helps maintain safe conditions for self and others.
- Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Responsible for carrying out work as planned Preventive Maintenance
- Comply with Hotel Rules and Regulations and provisions contained in the Employment Handbook.
- Comply with Company Grooming Standards at all times to portray a professional image of self and the hotel.
- Comply with Time and Attendance Policies set by the hotel.
- Actively participate in training and development programs and maximize opportunities for self-development.
- Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety.
- Familiarize yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of the Line Manager.
- Comply with the Company’s Corporate Code of Conduct.
- Familiarize self with the company values (Great Hotels Guests Love) and model desired behaviors (Winning Ways, Room to be Yourself) and ways of working (IHG Wheel).
- Perform all tasks as directed by the Manager in pursuit of the achievement of business goals
- Any task as and when required, not limited to.
Education:
HSC with Certification Course in Engineering or equivalent. Diploma in Engineering or equivalent is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Customer service skills and problem solving abilities & extremely organised and demonstrates good planning skills
- Technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/electronics
- Demonstrated ability of interact with guests, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
- Must have Electrical License
Experience: 2 year related experience in a 5* hotel/ luxury properties.
Age: 28- 32
Physical Features: Sound Health & energetic

- Good in communication.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Others: Needs to be positive minded & self motivated and willing to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
