Baseline survey for the project WEMAN/GALS funded by Oxfam Novib

INAFI Bangladesh is the country chapter of global INAFI (International Network of Alternative Financial Institutions), a network of development practitioners. INAFI envisions a world where the poor are empowered and ensured sustainable livelihood with dignity. INAFI has more than 300 NGOs/ MFIs globally as members and 28 member NGOs/ MFIs in Bangladesh. INAFI works on various thematic issues such as microfinance, migration and development, mainstreaming gender, micro insurance among others in development sector through capacity building, research and knowledge management, and advocacy. 
INAFI Bangladesh has been implementing a project titled WEMAN/GALS funded by Oxfam Novib through 4 partner MFI/NGOs in 8 upazilas of 3 districts of Bangladesh.  One of the major activities of the project is to conduct a baseline survey.  Commencement of services: 16 September, 2014 and Expiration of contracts: 06 November, 2014

We invite proposal from interested individuals/organizations to undertake this assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

The consultants must have the following areas of expertise:

  • In-depth Knowledge on Gender issues, women’s empowerment and domestic violence in Bangladesh.
  • Experience of carrying out/leading evaluation of gender & women’s empowerment program.
  • Field level activities.
  • Strong Quantitative and Qualitative research skills, Analytical and Reporting skills.

The consultant/s submits separately the following:

  • Organization profile (not applicable in the case of individuals)
  • CVs of the key members of the team (1 page for each CV)
  • Proposal
    • Introduction & Literature review (1 pages)
    • Methodology (technical analysis of proposed participatory tools) (2-3 pages) [including the calculation of the sample size and selection of sample size]
    • Prior experience and other forms of documentation relevant to the subject [most significant 5 relevant experience] (1 page)
    • Financial proposal that outlines the fees and associated costs in BDT and preferred payment methods/schedules.
    • Consultant/s must budget for all relevant costs (including Tax/Vat as per government rule of Bangladesh) and provide explanatory notes.
