Major Responsibilities

Senior Research Associate (SRA) is a mid level research position at BIGD. As an SRA, your responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with Cluster Heads/senior researchers in managing research projects. 
  • Assist in identification, planning and design of research projects.
  • Ability to do analysis with minimal supervision
  • Write up and deliver report/article from analysis.
  • Engage in discussion and debate with other researchers to promote peer to peer learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Organize seminars/workshops/conferences.
  • Additional task as and when they are assigned.

Educational and curricular requirements

  • The candidate/s must have post graduate with CGPA 3.5 and above in Economics/ Development economics/ Public policy/ Urban economics or studies/ Gender studies/ Social science from a reputed national or international university.
  • Interested and adept at analytical development work (qualitative, quantitative and/or experimental) and skills in relevant tools.
  • At least five years of research experience and three referred journal publication.
  • Active interest in national and global current affairs, economics and politics.

Other Essential Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written English skills.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in research methods. 
  • Knowledge in experimental research methods and project/program evaluation will be preferred.
  • Independent enough to work with minimum supervision and ability to work well within a team.
  • General ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and perform under pressure
  • S/he should have a practical and flexible approach to duties and have excellent time management skills.
  • Expected to maintain good interpersonal relations with fellow researchers and staff members.

Job Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh but frequent field visits will be required.

Salary (monthly): We are willing to pay a salary commensurate with your skills and qualifications.

Job Nature: Full time contractual
