The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization. The IFRC Country Office in Bangladesh has been working with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) for more than 30 years in humanitarian fields mainly the disaster response and management, cyclone preparedness, disaster relief and recovery, community based disaster preparedness, risk reduction and mitigation (Population Movement), etc.

The IFRC Country Office in Bangladesh is now looking for a suitable Bangladeshi national for the following position:

Position Title:                                  Finance Officer
Duty Station(s):                               IFRC Bangladesh Country Office, Dhaka with frequent field visits
Reporting lines:                              Sr. Manager, Finance, IFRC Bangladesh Country Office
Duration:                                          1 (One) Year (with possible extension)

Key tasks and responsibilities:

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide Financial Support under the overall direction of the Sr. Finance Manager/ Finance Delegate for Population Movement Operation.
  • Check and verify Purchase requisition codes, Check Invoices, prepare payment vouchers for appropriate approvals.
  • Ensure Working advance to BDRCS transfer is timely and appropriately.
  • Support/maintain Office Petty Cash payment for the Office
  • Support Payment process and settling working advance
  • Provide Support to the Sr. Finance Manager and Sr. Finance Officer as required.
  • Provides Finance support to Federation Team; with Budget Coding, monitoring/reconciling Cash advances,
  • Ensuring transactions are properly CODES, Booked, entered into the CODA system as per approved budget
  • Implement/ maintain Federation Standard Practice in finance Management activities
  • Carry out month and year end accounting procedure, including all reconciliations.
  • Any other duties assigned by line Manager

Qualifications


  • Master’s Degree in Commerce or Masters in Business Administration,

Experience


  • Experience in related field for at least 3-4 years

Skills


  • Sound interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft programs (spreadsheets, windows and word-processing)
  • Training/presentation skills
  • Knowledge of the Red Cross/Red Crescent, its activities- preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Bangla
