Position Title: Senior Electoral Advisor
Scope of Work:
- Provision of high quality of technical advisory services on the full range of legal, technical and operational issues relating to elections - for example, legislation, voter registration, voting and counting processes and election operations;
- Responsible for liaison and outreach to the election commission, the constitutional court and civil society groups to ensure the delivery of technical assistance;
- Effective coordination and management of sector activities to achieve established project outputs and targets;
- Contributing to progress reports including bi-weekly and quarterly reporting
- Monitor all developments in the electoral environment, conduct research, analysis and report on electoral, political and programmatic issues;
- Facilitate external networking for IFES Bangladesh and maintain ongoing excellent relationships with all relevant electoral stakeholders;
- Represent IFES Bangladesh at external events with regard to electoral and political issues;
- Travel as required; and
- Undertake other duties as directed by the Chief of Party.
Requirements:
- At least 10-15 years or comparable of experience of working in an international environment, ideally with significant experience in implementing democratic governance projects;
- Experience with electoral sector projects, including technical knowledge of electoral assistance and electoral sector needs;
- Direct experience from working in the Election Commission of Bangladesh strongly preferred;
- Fluency in English and Bangla, both written and oral;
- A high level of self-motivation and ability to work within a fast-paced environment;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to make independent decisions;
- A degree in political science or related field.
