The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), established in 1863, works worldwide to provide humanitarian help for people affected by conflict and armed violence and to promote the laws that protect victims of war. An independent and neutral organization, its mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. Based in Geneva, Switzerland, it employs some 12,000 people in 80 countries; it is financed mainly by voluntary donations from governments and from national Red Cross and Red Crescent societies. The ICRC in Cox’s Bazar Office is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated person for the following position:

Position : HR Assistant
Department : Human Resource
Number of Position : 1
Location : Cox’s Bazar
Starting date : As soon as possible
Contract Type : Full time Open Ended Contract


  • Assist in HR operations including but not limiting to job postings, interviews, and event coordination
  • Provide general secretarial and administrative support (updating staff files and contracts, handling correspondence, registration and filing, etc.)
  • Provide administrative follow-up for recruitment and training activities
  • Report HR issues within his/her responsibilities
  • Update and maintain HR data and records e.g. compensation, absences, etc.
  • Deal with general queries related to HR, including benefits and benefit eligibility
  • Carry out procedures related to local HR practice, taxes and social security
  • Assist local or regional learning and development staff with administrative work

2. Educational Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelors in Human Resource Management and professional diploma
  • Good command of English (written and spoken)
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

3. Professional requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in HR administration
  • Work experience in the humanitarian and/or development field will be preferred

4. Personal qualities for the position:

  • Excellent sense of responsibility and confidentiality
  • Good communication, writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, respecting the established framework
  • Able to define priorities
  • Able to adapt to and work in team in a multicultural environment.
  • Team spirit and capacity to integrate a multidisciplinary approach
