The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), established in 1863, works worldwide to provide humanitarian help for people affected by conflict and armed violence and to promote the laws that protect victims of war. An independent and neutral organization, its mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. Based in Geneva, Switzerland, it employs around 12,000 people in 80 countries; it is financed mainly by voluntary donations from governments, national Red Cross and Red Crescent societies. The ICRC in Cox’s Bazar Office is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated person for the following position:

Position  : Dispatcher
Department  : Fleet Management [Logistics]
Location : Cox’s Bazar

Full time Open Ended Contract

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for efficient management of vehicles movement as well as ensure safety and security vehicle, drivers and passengers. Major responsibilities include but do not limit to

  •  Independently works to ensure that the fleet is used in a rational manner Organizes and plans drivers' roster duties and assignments; dispatches the assigned vehicles
  • Monitors and records vehicle use and manage fuel consumption
  • Keeps tracks of all vehicle movements using Humanav or similar tools
  • ensure proper documentation i.e. Field Trip Forms, Log books and relevant correspondence
  • Coaches and trains drivers to prevent corruption and smuggling
  • Encourages safe driving and training drivers for rules, regulations, reporting in any case of accidents
  • Analyses and mitigates risks (vehicle looting and safety hazards) in dangerous locations
  • Takes all necessary steps to implement the delegation's security rules

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree or technical/professional Diploma
  • Good command (spoken and written) of English
  •  Good computer skills (MS Excel and MS Word)
  • Valid Driving license

Professional requirements

  • Two years' work experience in a similar position
  • Good knowledge about the area of assignment
  • Familiarity with all-terrain vehicles and VHF radio
