JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Communications Manager will lead the development and execution of the South and Central Asia Regional Communications Plan that creates greater awareness and support among key audiences for ICCO Cooperation’s high priority programs in the region under the Sustainable Livelihoods and Justice and Dignity agenda. This position will closely work with country teams in Bangladesh, India, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Pakistan and Tajikistan, the Regional Fundraising Officers, and the Global Communication Team at the Global office in the Netherlands to ensure strong visibility of ICCO’s work and communicating our work to the outside world.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the Regional Communications Strategy and maintain a strong brand for ICCO Cooperation
  • Enhance the development and maintenance of good communication processes and procedures to scale our regional and local opportunities in fundraising
  • Promote the creation and sharing of best practices and innovation that support ICCO Cooperation’s core objectives and strategies
  • Write and edit content for various communication vehicles such as presentations, internal communications, intranet, case-studies, email, newsletters, annual reports, websites and social media
  • Provide creative support and communication guidance for critical programs and deliverables in coordination with Programme and management teams
  • Build on existing and develop new relationships with media, key decision makers, international and local partners in enhancing ICCO Cooperation’s identity and visibility, primarily in Bangladesh.
  • Provide support to country teams in other countries of the ICCO South and Central Asia (SCA) Region to build existing and develop mew relationships with media, key decision makers, international and local partners in enhancing ICCO Cooperation’s identity and visibility
  • Keep abreast of the developments in the ICCO SCA region, analyze the ICCO sponsored activities and provide suggestions for possible future strategies

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • A Masters Degree in Journalism/ Mass communications / Social sciences
  • A minimum of seven years of professional experience in international development sector
  • A creative and innovative thinker with demonstrated success in synthesizing and translating concepts, ideas and projects into clear and compelling communication stories, that can be leveraged in multiple arenas
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, editing, and presentation skills and able to work across diverse groups and cultures
  • Conversant in new media technologies and software
  • Excellent management and strategic planning experience
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and entrepreneurial

Salary & Benefits: Consolidated salary approx. BDT 120,000 plus benefits
