We are looking for skilled and ambitious professionals for a new and innovative education intervention under our existing project called PROOFS - Profitable Opportunities for Food Security. The overall project works with existing CBOs and private sector actors to ensure sustainable food and nutrition security. Following a unique approach, the education intervention will promote innovative life skills and vocational education and training (VET) programmes in support of the reduction of child labour and the enhancement of Food and Nutrition Security (FNS), thereby complimenting the overall PROOFS objective. The project is being implemented by international consortium partners ICCO Cooperation, BoP Innovation Center and iDE, in close cooperation with local partners.

ICCO Cooperation, the consortium lead partner, has extensive experience in vocational education training initiatives in Africa, Central Asia and South- and South East Asia. One of the current successful interventions is the Learn4Work initiative in Africa. BoPInc works with international companies to accelerate adoption of inclusive innovations to benefit people in low-income groups and societies. International Development Enterprises (iDE) is an international NGO that facilitates the provision of technologies, services, and capacity building to small rural farmers, while actively fostering their participation in agricultural markets, to increase their incomes and capabilities. For this position, employees will sign a contract with ICCO.

Position: VET Capacity Building Officer

No. of vacancies: 7 (Seven)   

Key Job Descriptions/ Responsibilities:

  • Assess the capacity development needs of VET centre faculty members/teaching staff and provide feedback to Regional VET Capacity Building Senior
  • Facilitate effective implementation of and contribute to  TOT program to ensure VET faculty members are equipped to apply interactive teaching style and use innovative tools and technologies for effective uptake of new market-driven vocational curriculum solutions
  • Regularly monitor and supervise training activities of VET centre staff and report back any gaps and/or requirements to regional VET Capacity Building Senior
  • Work closely with VET centre management and teaching staff, providing ongoing mentorship for smooth transition to a new teaching approach and delivery technique of new  curriculum solutions
  • Closely monitor the classroom training of students at VET centers and provide feedback to teachers and upper management for action, if and when appropriate.
  • Analyze the training needs of district office staff , in conjunction with regional VET Capacity Building Senior
  • Regularly evaluate classroom trainings and assess applicability of tools and report back to regional VET Capacity building Senior for taking action, if and when necessary.
  • Work cross-functionally with other work groups to ensure optimal project impact is derived

Educational requirement: At least a Bachelors/Diploma in  Education/ Human Resources

Experience requirement:

  • Minimum 3 (three) years of relevant experience in an educational set up, preferable in an INGO
  • High ethical and moral standards
  • Honest, meticulous, transparent and responsible
  • Ability to adapt and work with people from different cultures, gender, religion, race, nationality and age
  • Excellent administrative capabilities

Salary & benefits: Depending on relevant experience and education, maximum Tk.40,000 with other benefits
