ICCO Cooperation has been working in Bangladesh over  42 years through local partner NGOs. Recently, ICCO has established its country office in Bangladesh from November 2013.

Main objective of designation:

To ensure quality and timely implementation of ICCO’s  food & nutrition project on “Sustainable Livelihoods for the Extreme Poor” implemented by Gana Unnayan Kendra (GUK). The main objective of project is to enhance food security of ultra poor families through income generating capacity and Employment options. The project will covers two upazillas of Gaibandha district.

Duty post : In general the Project Coordinator will work closely to accompany implementing partner organisation.  The position is based in Gaibandha, Bangladesh. 

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

The Project Coordinator is responsible for

  • Providing technical & constructive support to implementing partner and team in order for the objectives of the project to be met
  • Developing a  quality monitoring plan and system together with the implementing partner  and in cooperation with ICCO Programme Officer and Finance Controller
  • Guiding the Project staff in the preparation of the planned activities both for the staff and beneficiaries.
  • Ensuring that the project documentation is kept in a proper way
  • Participating in regular monitoring field visits with implementing partner
  • Ensuring monthly review meetings with project team
  • Sharing field monitoring reports ( key points) along with general monthly activity report to communication lines in ICCO Office in the first week of every month
  • Supporting partners work on advocacy and lobby  at national level as per project objectives with government/ stakeholders
  • Supporting ICCO Finance controller to ensure the project value for money.

Communication lines

The Project Coordinator reports to the Programme Officer and the Finance Controller of ICCO on all issues related to general project management and financial management respectively. The Project Coordinator is provided

  • programmatic supervision and support by the Programme Officer on all issues related to the programmatic content of project.
  • overall financial management supervision and support by Finance Controller

Educational Background: Master in related discipline.

Professional skills and qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar post
  • Solid understanding of and experience in working with partners, rights issues, advocacy and mobilisation of the rural poor.
  • Solid knowledge of and experience in Development Work from Rights Based Approach with strong Gender sensitive perspective and a general approach that promotes justice and equality.
  • Good control over budget monitoring
  • Strong interpersonal communication & reporting skills
  • Strong skills in facilitation and capacity building of partner organisations and community
  • Working experience from INGO sector on value based development work 
  • Strong command in oral and written English
  • Ability and willingness to work in team
  • IT skills at an advanced user level

Salary & Benefits: Consolidated salary BDT 11,62,518 for 1 year out of group health insurance

Reports to:  Program Officer/ Finance Officer
