Job Description - Business Development Manager

Job Summary

The Business Development Manager will support the Regional Institutional Partnerships Manager and Senior Regional Marketing Manager in implementing the Bangladesh Fundraising strategy by identifying new business development opportunities, lead program design and writing proposals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Regional and Country Fundraising Strategy.
  • Identify and qualify funding and partnership affiliate opportunities in a systematic manner, regularly monitor opportunities and share with relevant team members.
  • Research and produce guidance documents and briefings to affiliates on donor thematic strategies, policy directions and funding requirements and plans.
  • Develop highly competitive project and program proposals, finalize applications to persuasively communicate our vision, strategy, and programs to potential funders; solicit and integrate feedback from program, budget, and fundraising perspectives.
  • Provide advice on and at times lead project/program development contract design, understanding donor rules and regulations, as well as donor relations and communication in general.
  • Prepare donor reports for grants awarded together with the program and monitoring team.
  • Coordinate with Regional Fundraising Manager in managing the grant application process and ensuring that grants received are tracked, and reported upon and in line with donors' expectations.
  • Support the Marketing Manager and Country Representative to prepare for meetings with donors and participate in these meetings as appropriate.
  • Facilitate networking meeting with potential donors and partners in order to keep up-to-date with developments in funding practices and sources.
  • Ensure that in-country warm-acquisitions are timely followed up and quality concepts and proposals are timely submitted to the donors.

Qualifications: :

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or experience in an appropriate field
  • Minimum 5 years experience required in similar position.
  • Prior experience and knowledge of working in fundraising is mandatory
  • Good contextual knowledge and understanding of Bangladesh
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload, work under own initiative and be flexible to changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence, both internally and externally
  • Rigorous application of high and continuously improving standards
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills in English with ability to analyse and synthesise complex issues
  • Excellent computer skills, including various office applications and internet navigation.
