Public Private Outreach and Training Coordinator
Bangladesh Trade Facilitation Activity Project

IBI International seeks a Public Private Outreach and Training Coordinator for a long-term position on a project in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Background:  IBI International is implementing the USAID-funded Bangladesh Trade Facilitation Activity (BTFA), a five-year project to support the Government of Bangladesh’s efforts to improve and modernize Customs and other trade processes and procedures, in order to promote economic growth and increased revenue.  We are seeking Bangladeshi candidates to staff this project in Dhaka.

Objective: The Public Private Outreach and Training Coordinator will provide technical advice and support in the development and management of all communications and media functions under BTFA. He/she will also assist the BTFA staff in preparation and delivery of all BTFA training activities. The incumbent will report to the Chief of Party (COP) with day-to-day oversight from the Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP).

This is a long-term position for a Bangladeshi national, but citizens of other countries legally residing in Bangladesh may apply (salary will not change based on nationality).  Salary offer will be based on candidate experience and salary history.  The position is based in Dhaka.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will be responsible for:

  • Development, management, continuous improvement and expansion of the communications and media functions of BTFA, including but not limited to:
    • Develop a comprehensive communications and media plan
    • Providing technical advice and support to the COP on communication issues and compliance with USAID branding and marking requirements. 
    • Development of BTFA success stories for submission to USAID
    • Development and dissemination of relevant information related to the media, project partners and other stakeholders, and USAID through information briefs, press releases, press conferences and other events
    • Conduct specific research assignments as assigned related to topics deemed important to the project
    • Identify and connect with private businesses, stakeholders and relevant parties
    • Create and manage awareness campaigns and increase public/private dialogue
  • Assist BTFA staff in the preparation and delivery of BTFA training activities, including but not limited to:
    • Sourcing and costing suitable training venues; maintain a register of suitable training venues and associated costs
    • Facilitate all BTFA training events.
    • Ensure BTFA compliance with all USAID TRAINET requirements, including the uploading of information.
    • Update all Training related information and preparation of quarterly training report for USAID.
    • Prepare relevant training materials and manuals
    • Distribution and follow-up on invitations to BTFA workshop and training events
    • Responsibility for the timely and accurate input of training information on the USAID training and event database
    • Maintain the BTFA in-office training library
    • Ensure that all training materials produced and distributed are in compliance with USAID branding and marking requirements
  • Build capacity among staff, partners and other stakeholders in the area of information product development, media relations, and communications strategies through training, mentoring, and on-the-job work relationships.
  • Assist Team Leaders with Public Private Dialogue, to create awareness of BTFA programs to the private sector, highlighting positive outcomes and benefits.
  • Provide the COP monthly, and/or quarterly progress reports of activities and plans for the next quarter, in accordance with the approved work plan.
  • Other duties as requested by the COP.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree required, Master’s degree preferred in Media and Communications, Business Administration, or related field (social sciences or humanities) from a reputable institution.
  • Minimum Experience: A cumulative experience of at least seven years in a communications and training management role. Must have proven experience in development of design and delivery of training programs.
  • Key Competencies: Must have the following abilities, skills and knowledge:
    • Ability to organize training events and working sessions;
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to coach individuals and teams;
    • Excellent oral and written English language skills;
    • Knowledge of, and ability to use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Excel, and PowerPoint applications;
    • Ability to use information technology to advance training design, delivery and evaluation;

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least eight years’ experience supporting a USAID-financed project
  • Familiarity with systems and operations of GOB public sector institutions.
  • Applicants who possess a professional Trainer Certificate
