Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is an international charity founded in 1984 with headquarters based in Birmingham, UK. Working in over 30 countries, Islamic Relief promotes sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities to eradicate poverty, illiteracy and disease. Islamic Relief also responds to disasters and emergencies, supporting people in crisis. Islamic Relief started working in Bangladesh in 1991 (NGO Affairs Bureau # 553) to respond to the devastating cyclone in the south-eastern coastal belt through relief and rehabilitation operations. Since then, Islamic Relief has expanded its programmes focusing on both humanitarian and development challenges through an integrated approach in the fields of livelihoods, food security and community development, child protection and welfare, health and nutrition, water and sanitation, education, disaster risk reduction and climate change.
Currently Islamic Relief Bangladesh along with DNCC is implanting a project title “Resilience through Watershed Management, Risk Reduction and Development in Bangladesh (ReWARD)”. This project is emphasizing on Watershed Management (e.g. Household level Rain Water Harvesting from rooftop, Infrastructure for reducing water congestion in community level/housing society, Alternative use of ground water and use surface water for park/bus station, Green roofing for collective use of rain water and vegetation, Design for existing waste transfer station to control odor and waste water during rainy season) and Waste Management (e.g. Semi Modern Slaughterhouse for Waste Management through Biogas plan construction & practices)

Task 1 – directly work with Sr. Programme Officer & Programme officer as clear concept on Eco infrastructure design and development on Waste management & Rain Water Management;
Task 2 – Visit at project areas for identification of locations;
Task 3 – Visit different locations of the country to see the existing modern Eco infrastructure design on above issues; |

| Qualification/ competency |
Post graduate degree in relevant discipline (Preferably: B Sc. in Civil Engineering/Environmental Engineering/Architecture)
Should have sound knowledge in AutoCAD and others civil engineering software's
Should have sound knowledge in structural design and architectural design
Should have field level project implementation experience with close supervision; |

Proposal should briefly capture the following.
Profile of firm/ organization/ individual;
Updated CV of consultants with 2 references;
Cover letter stating availability for assignment;
With consultancy fees for each item of design steps and also with TIN; |

Interested firms/organizations/individual Consultant is expected to submit proposal (Specified Above) to recruits@islamicrelief-bd.org Or to the following address: Human resources Department, Islamic Relief Bangladesh, House no. 10, Road no. 10, Block-K, Baridhara, and Dhaka 1212 on or before September 13, 2014. It is strictly advised not to send any other document unless specified above. Violation of the clause will result into disqualification from the bid participation. Please mention only the ‘Consultant- Structural Design Estimation’ as the subject of email or top of sealed envelope. |
