HEMA is an international retail organization that is well-known for its products with the right combination of good quality, good design and great prices. HEMA was founded in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 1926 and nowadays has more than 700 stores in The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom and Austria. Our product range consists of more than 30,000 different articles that are all designed and developed in-house by the HEMA team. To facilitate this, HEMA has its own buying offices in China, Hong Kong and Dhaka, Bangladesh.

For our Dhaka office we are searching for high qualified candidates for the position of:

QC Inspector

Job Description:

  • Carrying out pre-production meetings, inline and final quality inspections independently, ensuring all shipped products meet HEMA quality and where applicable, child safety requirements;
  • Ensuring all vendors understand and correctly implement and follow HEMA’s production and quality procedures;
  • Training and monitoring the quality teams and assigned GPQs at HEMA vendors;
  • Monitoring production and providing technical support and solutions when needed;
  • Analyzing vendor production flow and quality processes and cooperating and supporting vendors whenever improvement is needed;
  • Communicating pro-actively, effectively and as often as needed with HEMA merchandising team and contact persons at vendors;
  • Daily reporting on activities and inspection results to HEMA management, colleagues, as well as vendors.

Requirements:

  • Post graduate from a recognized university in textile or other engineering discipline
  • Experience with QC inspections and factory audits, preferably from international buying house and/or a 3rd party QC organization;
  • Experience in woven and knitted garments, experience in home textiles and home hard goods is a benefit;
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English;
  • Hands-on attitude, willing and able to work independently and pro-actively;
  • Eye for detail;
  • Willing to travel frequently during working days;
  • Strong computer skills;
  • Attitude of high integrity in business affairs towards factories’ quality and HEMA
