HELVETAS is an international organization, operating in more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe in the domains of water & infrastructure, environment & climate change, rural economy, skill development & education, and governance & peace. In Bangladesh, HELVETAS supports the development of rural livelihoods and local governance through  direct support to agriculture and has demonstrated experience in improving access to drinking water as well as reduction of water induced risks, including flood, erosion, and salinity targeting the extreme poor and disadvantaged. HELVETAS, in partnership with ACTED, is launching an emergency operation to respond to the Rohingya Refugee Crisis and is working in particular the sector of Site Management (CCCM) in the Camps of the Kutupalong-Balukhali Expansion Site, Cox’s Bazar.

Salaries will be based on qualifications and experience with a range between BDT 31,600-33,300 per month..

Selection criteria

The main criteria used in the selection of the Cleaner are the following:

  • previous working experience in similar position, ideally in INGO
  • Excellent level of English and Bangla skills are required for writing, and speaking. English Language proficiency especially local dialog (Chittagonian) will be tested.
  • Experience in using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Should have knowledge on humanitarian principals
  • Communicating with FLAT, and program team
  • Skills required: Results orientated, teamwork, flexible, commitment, stress management, high level of confidentiality, problem solving skills, ability to organize & priorities workload independently, using initiative when appropriate, and ability to act as part of multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team.
  • The incumbent should be organized, discreet, and people oriented. Possess strong smart personality.

Key Responsibilities

ToR’s will be provided based on expertise which includes, but are not limited to:

  • Clean offices, bathrooms, Corridors, windows glasses, office assets (desk, tables, furniture etc.);
  • Make and service coffee for staff and visitors when asked;
  • Clean Kitchen areas and do dishes while on duty in ACTED Offices;
  • Ensure general cleaning of office;
  • Clean daily the office and make sure the garbage are collected by collector regularly;
  • Purchase raw materials and groceries from market if required;
  • Keep the hygiene and tidiness of kitchen/lunch areas and make sure the refrigerators are clean all the time;
  • Sorted out the kitchen foodstuff in daily basis and make sure to remove spoiled food stuff (meat, fruits, cooked dishes from kitchen areas);
  • Clean the kitchen area after each time of meals every day;
  • Provide other support to the HR department as required

The Cleaner will report to and operate under the guidance of the HR & Admin Officer.
