HELVETAS is an international organization, operating in more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe in the domains of water & infrastructure, environment & climate change, rural economy, skill development & education, and governance & peace. In Bangladesh, HELVETAS supports the development of rural livelihoods and local governance through  direct support to agriculture and has demonstrated experience in improving access to drinking water as well as reduction of water induced risks, including flood, erosion, and salinity targeting the extreme poor and disadvantaged. HELVETAS, in partnership with ACTED, is launching an emergency operation to respond to the Rohingya Refugee Crisis and is working in particular the sector of Site Management (CCCM) in the Camps of the Kutupalong-Balukhali Expansion Site, Cox’s Bazar.

Admin Assistant

Salaries will be based on qualifications and experience with a range between BDT 56,000-60,000 per month.

Selection criteria

The main criteria used in the selection of the Admin Assistant are the following:

  • previous working experience in similar position, ideally in INGO
  • Excellent level of English and Bangla skills are required for writing, typing and speaking. English Language proficiency especially local dialog (Chittagonian) will be tested.
  • Experience in using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) essential
  • Should have knowledge on humanitarian principals
  • Communicating with FLAT, program team, Organizing and taking minutes of meetings.
  • Skills required: Results, teamwork, Flexibilities, commitment, stress management, level of confidentiality, problem solving skills, ability to organize & priorities workload independently, using initiative when appropriate, and ability to act as part of multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team.
  • The incumbent should have organized, discreet, and people oriented. Possess strong with smart personality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Based on the expertise the Admin Assistant will receive specific ToRs which includes, but are not limited to:
  • Provide administrative support to “International staffs”. 
  • Assist the coordination in terms of visa issue, ticket and translating documents into local language and act as Administrative Support of Coordination.
  • Provide a weekly/ Monthly updated Contact List for all the mission
  • Follow-up staff attendance, and maintain leave records
  • Maintaining the different type File
  • General office management responsibilities and tasks as required by management.
