GENERAL CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND:

Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a non-government development organization founded by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, an eminent educationist, reformer and Sufi. The founding motto of DAM is ‘Divine and humanitarian service’. It functions since 1958 pursuing the aims of social and spiritual development of entire human community.

DAM is recruiting suitable candidates for its upcoming Humanitarian Aid project in Jamtoli refugee camp and its surrounding host communities funded by HEKS/EPER (a swiss INGO). HEKS/EPER is supporting local partner organizations with around 200 projects in 34 key countries worldwide.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Tasks
Project implementation
  • Implement and manage food security and livelihoods activities in the field according to project guideline.
  • Regular visit, supervise, monitor, support and follow-up of field team on implementation of project activities.
  • Assist Project Manager to plan for food security and livelihood (FSL) related training, workshop, seminar and meeting.
  • Consider of disaster resilient features, gender sensitivity, inclusive approach as a cross cutting issue during programme planning and implementation.
Information management and reporting
  • Contribute to establishing project baseline information through conducting the community situation analysis (CSA), baseline survey, need assessments and beneficiaries’ selection.
  • Assist PO (MEAL) for verification and validation of data on progress of project on monthly & quarterly basis.
  • Share field findings, challenges and areas in need for improvement with line manager on regular basis.
  • Provide detailed, accurate and timely reports to the line manager as per requirement of the project need.
Coordination, networking and advocacy
  • Participate in cluster meetings, and other coordination meetings assigned by project manager.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination with project staffs and other stakeholders.
Capacity Strengthening
  • Facilitate training for field staff for their capacity development in relation with food security and livelihoods activities.
  • Support and develop capacity development training module on livelihood issue for front line staffs, community leaders and project beneficiaries.
Financial Management and logistics
  • Manage budget for the assigned food security and livelihoods activities and ensure all expenses are according to budget line.
  • Monitor the proper use of materials, financial and human resources.
Safety and Security
  • Responsible to put in place appropriate security and prevention measured during any distribution and implementation of project activities.
  • Provide timely incident report to the line manager as needed.

REQUIRED PROFILE AND EXPERIENCE:

Education and professional experience
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from any recognized university with 5 years’ experience in development organization, preferably in Food Security and Livelihoods field.
  • Priority will be given to the candidates who have experience in Rohingya response project.
Professional requirements
  • Good knowledge of security management in humanitarian contexts.
  • Keep strong coordination with other implementing agencies, donors and local governmental authorities at field level.
  • Excellent computer skills.
Language
  • Fluent English skills (written, spoken and reading). Local language is an asset.
Personal requirements
  • Willingness to accept frequent field missions. Driving motorbike with valid driving license.
  • Ability to establish collaborative relationships with staff, beneficiaries and other stakeholders.
  • Strong attitude to take initiative, work autonomously and achieve results effectively, Flexibility and Stress-management.
