GENERAL CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND:

Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a non-government development organization founded by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, an eminent educationist, reformer and Sufi. The founding motto of DAM is ‘Divine and humanitarian service’. It functions since 1958 pursuing the aims of social and spiritual development of entire human community.

DAM is recruiting suitable candidates for its upcoming Humanitarian Aid project in Jamtoli refugee camp and its surrounding host communities funded by HEKS/EPER (a swiss INGO). HEKS/EPER is supporting local partner organizations with around 200 projects in 34 key countries worldwide.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Main responsibilities
Tasks

Financial Management

  • Manages the projects’ day-to day accounting functions including regular cash verification, bank balance sheets, accounts reconciliation, monthly closing, monthly cash projection, and timely submission of financial reports to the respective authority.
  • Receives, analyses, follows up and consolidates the monthly financing accounts.
  • Conducts orientations, guides and advises to the project staff on correct finance procedures and proper documentation.
  • Ensures adherence to the national laws for Income Tax and VAT, and ensures applicable payments are made in time.
  • Prepare all finance reports required by the project.
  • Recording of bills, advances, invoices and payments in accurate time, cash reconciliation.

Administrative and Logistics Support

  • Provides administrative support to the project team. This also includes organising logistics for project, travel arrangement, meetings, conferences and other special events.
  • Prepares contracts engaged by DAM with third parties.
  • Performs procurement according to DAM policy.
  • Payment and clearance of advances and salaries.
  • Ensures timely payment of all utilities and other bills.

HR Support

  • Keep all HR records accurately in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Perform all other Human Resource related admin tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality of organizational information and documents strictly and sincerely.

Safety and Security

  • Asses and consult other stakeholders to ensure security situation of planned locations is calms; Ensure risk assessment and share security information.
  • Provide timely incident report to the line manager as needed.

REQUIRED PROFILE AND EXPERIENCE:

Education and professional experience
  • Master’s in Accounting/Finance/Management/Business Administration or equivalent with minimum 5 years’ experience in development organization.
  • Priority will be given to the candidates who have experience in Rohingya response project.

Professional requirements

  • Good knowledge of security management in humanitarian contexts.
  • Excellent computer skills.

Language

  • Fluent English skills (written, spoken and reading). Local language is an asset.

Personal requirements

  • Willingness to accept frequent field missions. Driving motorbike with valid driving license.
  • Ability to establish collaborative relationships with staff, beneficiaries and other stakeholders;
  • Strong attitude to take initiative, work autonomously and achieve results effectively; Flexibility and Stress-management.
