GENERAL CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND:

Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a non-government development organization founded by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, an eminent educationist, reformer and Sufi. The founding motto of DAM is ‘Divine and humanitarian service’. It functions since 1958 pursuing the aims of social and spiritual development of entire human community.

DAM is recruiting suitable candidates for its upcoming Humanitarian Aid project in Jamtoli refugee camp and its surrounding host communities funded by HEKS/EPER (a swiss INGO). HEKS/EPER is supporting local partner organizations with around 200 projects in 34 key countries worldwide.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Main responsibilities
Tasks

Financial Management

  • Assist to maintain the projects’ day-to day accounting functions including regular cash verification, bank balance sheets, accounts reconciliation, monthly closing, monthly cash projection, and timely submission of financial reports to the respective authority.
  • Maintain regular bank transactions and deposits all the utility bills, Income Tax and VAT in time.
  • Ensure that compliances of bills and payment properly.

Administrative and Logistics Support

  • Assist to provide administrative support to the project team. This also includes organising logistics for project, travel arrangement, meetings, conferences and other special events.
  • Perform procurement according to DAM policy. This includes collection of quotation, prepare comparative statement, drafting purchase order, etc.
  • Ensure receiving all the ordered materials from vendor and deliver to the project site as appropriate in good condition.
  • Maintain fixed assets register and always keep updated.
  • Manages all staff leave schedules for the team.
  • Ensure desk support for all the project staff.
  • Ensure daily logistics for the project team as required.

Safety and Security

  • Asses and consult other stakeholders to ensure security situation of planned locations is calms; Ensure risk assessment and share security information.
  • Provide timely incident report to the line manager as needed.

REQUIRED PROFILE AND EXPERIENCE:

Education and professional experience
  • Master’s in Accounting/Finance/Management/Business Administration or equivalent with minimum 3 years’ experience in development organization.
  • Priority will be given to the candidates who have experience in Rohingya response project.
Professional requirements
  • Good knowledge of security management in humanitarian contexts.
  • Excellent computer skills.
Language
  • Good English skills (written, spoken and reading). Local language is an asset.
Personal requirements
  • Willingness to accept frequent field missions. Driving motorbike with valid driving license.
  • Ability to establish collaborative relationships with staff, beneficiaries and other stakeholders;
  • Strong attitude to take initiative, work autonomously and achieve results effectively; Flexibility and Stress-management.
