Function:
To serve as the Communication and Resource Mobilization Manager, in accordance with HPI objectives, policies and procedures. The major function of the Communication and Resource Mobilization Manager will be to strategize, develop and nurture business relationships for scaling up program impact and diversifying revenue sources.
Responsibilities:
- Develop/update collaboration and partnership strategies for scaling up program impact and diversifying revenue sources
- Initiate new business relationships (public /private/corporate /foundations, etc.) and follow up and connect appropriate team members when necessary
- Research and strategize potential partners to enhance business relationships
- Provide resource development intelligence/research on upcoming opportunities and bring to the attention of the country program team for decisions on next steps
- Investigate the trend of donor interests and highlight their inclusion/priority in the Heifer Model, aligning them with the ground reality
- Lead or support the writing of grants for submission to donors (governmental/non-governmental organizations, embassies, corporate donors, private sector, etc.).
- As the spokesperson for HPI/Bangladesh, prepare press releases, news and event reports and ensure their transmission to appropriate media
- Act as the primary contact person for communicating disaster related news as per HPI/Bangladesh’s disaster communication plan
- Develop and update public relations materials such as pictures, video, slides, success stories, posters, calendars, etc.
- Keep the HPI/Bangladesh web site updated
- Coordinate and manage HPI/Bangladesh public events
- Act as a key player with HPI/Bangladesh’s regional stakeholders to build and nurture relationships for successful program implementation and expansion
- Act as a focal person of knowledge management and dissemination - produce and disseminate information/ knowledge/ publications through appropriate portals
- Seek continued growth in the knowledge of Heifer International programs and issues of hunger and poverty
- Perform other job-related duties as requested
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree plus seven (7) years of related experience is required, a Master’s degree plus five (5) years of related experience is preferred. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.
Preferred Requirements:
- Prior experience in networking and grants acquisition
- Experience or interest in agriculture/community development
Most Critical Proficiencies:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Advanced English communication skills, both written and oral
- Excellent organizational skills including strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and electronic mail software (Microsoft preferred)
- Ability to initiate and cultivate relationships with government entities and potential donor partners
- Excellent marketing and networking skills
