Habitat for Humanity International (“HFHI”) is a non-profit ecumenical Christian organisation dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat for Humanity is founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety. Habitat for Humanity Bangladesh (HFHB) is a relativity small operation dedicated to the eradication of substandard housing and homelessness. HFHB will implement a project “Supporting the Enabling Environment for better WaSH services in Northern Bangladesh” for the period up to February 2018 funded by KOICA and looking for interested and qualified candidates for the following position under the project.

Training Officer
Two positions based in Savar/Gazipur

  • The Training Officer (WaSH) will responsible for conducting Training Need Assessment and developing training manual on water and sanitation;
  • S/he will responsible for developing training material (IEC) including innovative ideas for training materials;
  • S/he will identify appropriate training method for different focus groups of the community;
  • S/he will develop training plan and conduct training to the community and partner NGOs on safe water and sanitation solutions;
  • S/he will be responsible to assist in developing training evaluation method and conduct training evaluation;
  • S/he will assist any in research activities initiated by HFHB.

Requirements:

  • The ideal person should have Graduation preferably from Social Science or Development Studies with at least 2- 3 years working experience as trainer, preferably with a Development Organization, working with low income people;
  • Willingness to learn and adopt new technology and methodology
  • Good presentation skill;
  • Advance skills in MS Office software;
  • Bilingual; able to speak and write both English & Bengali;
  • Willingness to work in a rural area on a group approach to serve needy families by providing shelter housing;
  • Maintain a high morale with integrity and honesty;
  • Capacity to handle multi tasks & prioritize job responsibilities;

Salary: Approximately Taka 25,000-28,000 per month (negotiable based on competency of selected candidate) with all other regular benefits and project completion incentive.
