Occupational Hygienist
Job description / Responsibilities:
The role is to ensure adequate occupational hygiene services to enable them to effectively access and manage occupational health risks and impacts to the Chittagong site. The key responsibilities of the role are:
- Identification of Chemical Hazards including review of all highly potent pharmaceutical ingredients used on site.
- Conduct chemical exposure assessments through -
- Qualitative (Walk Through Survey)
- Quantitative (Occupational Hygiene sampling, detailed Chemical Risk Assessments)
- Understand and communicate Air Sampling (Occupational Hygiene) results to stake holders
- Evaluate and interpret data of occupational hygiene sampling / monitoring and compile report for the management.
- Evaluate & interpret the result of Occupational hygiene survey.
- Participate in designing & implementation of measures to reduce chemical exposure where required recommended control hierarchies and engineering controls.
- Set up a Respiratory Protection Program based on exposure results and contiguous effort for the “Respirator Free” Environment.
- To prepare & implement Occupational Hygiene management plan at site.
- Support in health surveillance program.
- Conduct Light, noise and ergonomic risk assessments and monitoring.
- Carry-out illness/adverse event investigation, reporting and CAPA implementation.
- Hazard communications at the shop-floor.
Educational Requirements:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering / Masters in Chemistry from reputed university.
- Candidate having Diploma in Occupational Hygiene or Industrial Hygiene will be given privilege.
Experience Requirements: At least 2 years
Additional Job Requirements:
- At least 2 years of work experience in Occupational Hygienist role in an industry.
- Ability to work under pressure with and influence a variety of people.
- Effective written, oral and presentation skills both in English & Bengali
- Computer literacy
