Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian and development non-governmental organization in General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) is operating 14 Community Development Projects (CDPs) and 2 special projects in 10 districts on child protection, education, health, women empowerment, income generating activities, emergency response. As the KOICA-GNB CHW project has recently launched in Bochaganj, Dinajpur District, GNB intends to recruit suitable personnel for the following position:

Position: Accountant (KOICA-GNB CHW PROJECT, Bochaganj, Dinajpur District)

Requirements:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting, Finance, Master of Business Studies (MBS) in Accounting, Finance.
  • At least 3 years’ professional experience in account, finance, financial audit or administrative, financial, supportive expertise in either the public or the private sector.

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Support the managers and other officers to lead on operational, programmatic, and administrative management of the project.
  • Prepare voucher & maintain/update ledger properly in Excel & Software.
  • Manages day-to-day accounting, invoice, payroll, cash management and internal financial reporting.
  • Responsible for billing process, prepare supplier bill reconciliation statement, cheque withdraw, issue and party payment.
  • Responsible for the monthly close as well as maintenance of voucher including monthly accounts related documents & journal entries.
  • Manage the salary payroll, remuneration, and per-diem.
  • Manage the financial documents and expenditure relating to the project budget.
  • Report the monthly/quarterly/yearly budget expenditure and financial audit from either internal or external auditors.
  • General account duties directed by the senior accountant and other senior levels of project staffs.
  • Other administrative and supportive responsibilities relating to the project.

Attitudes, Skills and Abilities

  • Communication: Good ability to write in a clear and concise manner and to communicate effectively orally, good report writing skills in English. Official English Proficiency Test such as IELTS, TOEFL is an asset.
  • Technological skills: Must have excellent computer skills and knowledge such as MS-Office (WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT) and other relevant financial management tools.
  • Attitude: Having good knowledge about community development, global development and global health. Having positive attitudes toward the implementation of global development and global health. Having the ability to understand and to analyse maternal-child health problems and corresponding solutions. Having a highly transparent attitude and multi-tasking capability.

Report to Senior Accountant-Manager-Project Director

Remuneration:
33,000 BDT (Gross salary)/month

Contract Period:
1 year [Extendable depending upon evaluation until the end of the project]

Location: KOICA-GNB CHW Project Office, Bochaganj, Dinajpur, Rangpur, Bangladesh
