Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian and development non-governmental organization in General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) is operating 14 Community Development Projects (CDPs) and 2 special projects in 10 districts on child protection, education, health, women empowerment, income generating activities, emergency response. As the KOICA-GNB CHW project has recently launched in Bochaganj, Dinajpur District, GNB intends to recruit suitable personnel for the following position:

Position: Project Officer-Health (KOICA-GNB CHW PROJECT, Bochaganj, Dinajpur District)

Requirements:

  • Educational background on DMF (Diploma in Medical Faculty), MATS (Medical Assistant Training school) and Diploma in Nursing Science & Midwifery
  • At least 2 years’ professional experience in health/development project or relevant expertise in either the public or the private sector.

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Support the managers and other officers to lead on operational, programmatic, and administrative management of the project.
  • Support the initiation, implementation and closure of such activities related to maternal-child health care, public health, and community health.
  • Organise the meeting with various stakeholders especially family groups and patronage committee.
  • Mobilise community health workers and maintain their role in maternal-child health care.
  • Monitor and evaluate the CHWs activities.
  • Supervise and Involve in the recruitment process and evaluate the CHWs’ supervisor.
  • Support the behaviour change communication by distribution the educational materials.
  • Inspect the quality control and quality assurance of all medical supplies to CCs and FWCs.
  • Maintain the monitoring and evaluation in the public health sector of the project in collaboration with other health staffs.
  • Other relevant activities managed by hierarchical senior staffs.

Attitudes, Skills and Abilities

  • Communication: Good ability to write in a clear and concise manner and to communicate effectively orally, good report writing skills in English. Official English Proficiency Test such as IELTS, TOEFL is an asset.
  • Technological skills: Must have excellent computer skills and knowledge such as MS-Office (WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT etc.).
  • Attitude: Having good knowledge about community development, global development and global health. Having positive attitudes toward the implementation of global development and global health. Having the ability to understand and to analyse maternal-child health problems and corresponding solutions. Having the highly transparent attitude and multi-tasking capability.

Report to Public Health Officer-Public Health Specialist-Manager-Project Director

Remuneration:
33,000 BDT (Gross salary)/month

Contract Period:
1 year [Extendable depending upon evaluation until the end of the project]

Location: KOICA-GNB CHW Project Office, Bochaganj, Dinajpur, Rangpur, Bangladesh
