Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian and development non-governmental organization in General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). GNB is operating 14 Community Development Project (CDP)s in 10 districts on child protection, education, health, women empowerment, income generating activities, emergency response, ICT Education Project & Rohingya Emergency Project (RERP). Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) intends to recruit suitable personnel for the following position:

Position: Child Protection Officer

Vacancy: 01 person

Educational Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree on Sociology/Social welfare from any govt. recognized university and having 1 year working experience in relevant field.

  • Cox’s Bazar

Job Responsibilities:

  • Child Protection officer will lead the program and implementation of the Child Protection component under Rohingya Response Program.
  • This position will report to the GNB Manager
  • The Child Protection Officer will provide support on CPiE response, including strengthening of interventions on case management, CFS, psychosocial support and community mobilization.
  • The role will also provide day-to-day management, supervision, guidance the staff and volunteers.
  • Integration of child protection with other core sectors particularly with Education.
  • Establishing and maintaining liaison with different government, private and community level stakeholders.
  • Position holder will represent GNB attending regularly in Site Management meeting
  • He or She will report bi-weekly to manager and sub-sector.
  • He or She will be organized monthly meeting with Care Givers and Community Based Child Protection Committee and capable to explain organizations goals and activities to community.
  • Ensure that a psychosocial approach/perspective is employed in all work activities and decisions and that these reflect the priorities and best interests of women and girls been assisted.
  • Establish regular coordination and liaison with community leaders, NGOs, service providers and local organizations especially at the reception centers/transit centers etc.
  • Ensure that all program activities create a neutral and supportive environment for women and girls

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Have practical experience in humanitarian related work.
  • Knowledge on MS word, excel and PowerPoint
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience working with communities.
  • Can follow the working plan and program implements
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Supervisory experience
  • Have good leadership, people management, coaching, mentoring, and team building skills.
  • Strong problem identification, analytical and solving skills.
  • Experience working with communities and local governments, INGOs and other key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members.
  • Committed to GNB Core Values and Mission Statement.
  • Must know Chitagangiya/Rohingya language.

Salary Range: BDT. 30,000-35,000/-

Staff Category: Contractual for 6 months

Age: 28-35
