Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian and development non-governmental organization in General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). GNB is operating 14 Community Development Project (CDP)s in 10 districts on child protection, education, health, women empowerment, income generating activities, emergency response, ICT Education Project & Rohingya Emergency Project (RERP). Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) intends to recruit suitable personnel for the following position:

Position: Psychosocial Support Asst. Officer

Vacancy: 02 person

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree on Phycology from any govt. recognized university and having 6 months working experience on relevant field.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The PSS Asst. Officer will be responsible for providing direct psychosocial services, including group-based psychosocial activities through WFS to conflict-affected and displaced women and girls and survivors of GBV.
  • Provide age-appropriate case management to survivors of GBV, including assessment of client needs; basic crisis counseling; supporting clients in developing a plan to address their individual needs and safely implementing this plan; support to clients in pursuing services from other service providers as per clients’ wishes.
  • Build the capacities of the team in organizing and implementing community-based psychosocial activities and recreational activities; 
  • Carry out community outreach and awareness raising on available services and key messages on GBV.
  • Document all program and client activity in an accurate and timely manner using standardized tools and forms
  • Manage (identify, counsel, refer) individual protection cases, including maintaining strict protocols for confidentiality and consent. 
  • Update case files on individual developments, following GBV Standard Operating Principles (SOPs) and ensuring beneficiary data is protected. 
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining service mapping and referral pathways. 
  • Refer – in coordination with the Protection and/or Legal Officers – protection cases to relevant partners for adequate assistance, and update the database on cases referral and follow up. 
  • Contribute to capacity building of community groups, and stakeholders on psychosocial needs and activities for beneficiaries 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree and 6-month experience in relevant field.
  • Have practical experience in humanitarian related work.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience working with communities.
  • Can follow the working plan and program implements
  • Committed to GNB Core Values and Mission Statement.
  • Must know Chitagangiya/Rohingya language.
  • Newly graduated female candidates are also encouraged to apply.

Salary Range: BDT. 35,000-40,000/-

Staff Category: Contractual for 6 months

Age: 28-32
