For the team of our Promotion of Social and Environmental Standards in the Industry (PSES) III project, we seek applications from suitable candidates for the position of “Advisor”.

A. Responsibilities

The position holder is responsible for:

  • managing an area of responsibility that forms part of the programme objectives, team agreements and/or agreements with the superior
  • assisting project/programme initiatives to provide professional advisory services to and cooperate with a broad range of target groups
  • advice supervisor on all task when implementing GIZ rules and regulation
  • advice supervisor in the field of project's planning, steering and monitoring
  • Independently implement goals and requirements set by the line manager
  • make decisions which have a short-term effect within a limited project area/ unit
  • assist supervisor to identify day to day problem and suggest appropriate solution

In this context, the position holder fulfills the following tasks:

B. Tasks

1. Generate Business Case to Promote Inclusion in the Industries and Sustain IJC

The position holder will

  • Develop and promote business case(s) on economic inclusion of persons with disabilities in the textile and leather in collaboration with civil society organizations working with the project.
  • Assist senior colleagues in developing presentations using promotional videos and other methods which will create a ‘call for action’ for the economic inclusion of persons with disability in the industry.
  • Come up with creative out-of-box ideas, case studies for promoting the cause, creating channels (TV, Social Media, Press) to reach target groups to promote inclusion in the Textile, RMG and Leather industry.
  • Assist the project’s field of activity on inclusion or proper implementation in consultation with supervisor and senior team members as per the project goals, steering structure, tools and other measures;

2. Coordinate Ergonomic Assessment and Modification-EAM for partner organizations and 6 selected RMG/Leather Factories representatives

The position holder will

  • Coordinate the capacity building activities of rehabilitation professionals of PSES partners (CSO and factory representatives) on the Return on Investment (RoI) of Ergonomic Assessment and Modification in the factories;
  • Facilitate/Support/Coordinate the Return on Investment calculation for Ergonomic Interventions in the Industry level.
  • Fine tune EAM implementation process by addressing the loopholes, along with the project team, thus IJC can sell this service to make itself sustainable;

3. Making EAM in the Industries as a Business Case to sustain IJC

The position holder will

  • Take necessary actions to produce case studies, stories and/or video documents regarding EAM which will contribute to sustaining the IJC;
  • Produce necessary communication materials for the promotion of the EAM and IJC among textile, RMG and leather industries;
  • Coordinate and use social media marketing and TV channels to publish cases and promotion of videos (through free time slot, talk shows, documentaries)
  • Promote business story(ies) on EAM which will help PSES to motivate and factories to make contribute to Inclusive Job Centre (IJC);
  • Find and document the cases to promote and improve the inclusion related activities in other projects under textile cluster;
  • Develop Ergonomic Assessment and Modification (EAM) as service to the RMG and leather industries that the Inclusive Job Centre (IJC) can provide to make it sustainable;

4. Networking through Innovation and Creativity

The position holder will

  • Maintain effective business relationships with partner factories by sharing of resource materials and ideas;
  • Plan and coordinate seminar/workshops/meetings with partners factories and other prospective factories/CSOs for sharing of knowledge;
  • Maintain effective linkage with other projects of GIZ;
  • Create mass awareness on EAM in leather and textile industry by using networking;

5. Support senior team member for implementation of project activities

The position holder will

  • Assist Senior Advisors to arrange Gala Event or similar;
  • Support team members with ideas and for implementing in the field of inclusion;
  • Contribute to organizing quality assurance and propose necessary changes, improvements, and initiatives both at programme and field of activity in inclusion level;
  • Work closely with the inclusion field of activity team to address the issue as per the recent development trends and rights-based perspective;

6. Administration and other

The position holder will

  • Assist in activities of the project from concept development to execution;
  • Develop documents including Terms of References (ToRs), call for Expression of Interests (EOI), Request for Proposals (RFPs), Purchase requests and Technical grid formats;
  • Facilitate processing of payments and bills;
  • Follow up internal and external communication on behalf of the component of Inclusive Skills Development;
  • Assist to arrange meetings, preparing the time-plan/ schedule for the meetings, preparing meeting minutes;
  • Develop concepts and creative themes for program events.

C. Required qualifications, competences and experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in related field (Social Science/Business/Education/Development Studies/related subject).
  • Knowledge on Bangladesh Textile, RMG and Leather Industries

Professional experience

  • At least Three (03) years of relevant experience in project management especially in RMG/Textile sector.
  • Partnership development and management experience with public and private sector.
  • Experience in related research for better management of physical disabilities.
  • Experience to organize trainings, seminars, workshops, meetings, conferences, educational programmers, camps, and disseminate information and create awareness among related stakeholders.
  • Experience/Skills to manage persons with Repetitive Strain Injuries, Musculoskeletal Disorders and Industrial Ergonomics will be an added value.

Other knowledge, additional competences

  • Ability to work well under pressure and must be a strong team player
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluency in written English is essential
  • Ability to work in an intercultural environment
