Friendship (www.friendship.ngo) is a nonprofit development organization working to address the needs of remote and marginalized communities in Bangladesh for the last 15 years. Our priority is to reach the most underprivileged and underserved, including the people living in shifting river islands (known as Chars) and riverbank areas of northern Bangladesh, as well as the southern coastal areas on the Bay of Bengal. Friendship is also implementing humanitarian projects for the Rohingya refugees in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar, focusing on the hard-to-reach areas of the camps. Our interventions are based on compassion, in-depth knowledge, empathy and grassroots experience, intertwined with modern technology and innovative approaches.

Job Title- Program Specialist Health-
1.Scope of Position  
The Program Specialist is an important team member of Project Team for managing the Project. The specialist is responsible for managing the project and support field team provide management  support through team work.
2. Key Responsibilities
  • Support Team Leader in managing the project
  • Support field team & provide management  support
  • Manage field implementation
  • Procurement of materials
  • Mentoring of the field level employees
  • Conduct need Assessment, community level mapping of services, advocacy and networking.
  • Liaise with central and local Government authorities to ensure effective program implementation 
  • Manage visits for Government Stakeholders to Project Sites
  • Participate & foster in team building.
  • Any other task assigned by the management

Reporting to: Team Leader
Job Location: Dhaka (with extensive field visits)
POSITION  SPECIFICATION
Educational Qualifications:
Medical Graduate- MBBS from a reputed Institution.
Post Graduate qualification- Master’s in Public Health (MPH) will be an added qualification.
Job Experience: At least 5 years of experience in managing healthcare in NGO modality.
