Position Summary: The Health Information Systems Office will support FH/MTI project activities in Kutupalong. The job holder will make available to all field sites the vaccines and data collection tools and formats to ensure delivery of vaccines to the target population (s).  The job holder will have the PHC or HP as duty station but will work closely with the Community Health Workers and the Ukhiya Upazilla complex health team to contribute to achievement of immunization targets


Major Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the availability of adequate quantities of vaccines.
  • Secure and maintain the vaccines within the appropriate cold chain
  • monitoring the quantity and expiry date of all the medicines/vaccines using the VVM and to inform the supervisor of the need to reorder vaccines/supplies in advance of need.
  • Ensure correct use, sterilization and care of all the equipment/medical supplies used by the team in the implementation of the program.
  • Safely administer the correct vaccines and explain the correct dosage of all vaccines to responsible persons according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh immunization protocols and schedule.
  • Maintain an accurate register of the vaccines and immunization supplies.
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained according to the best hygiene practices.
  • Provide regular daily, weekly and monthly reports of vaccines utilization to immediate supervisor
  • Participating in weekly meetings of health team to discuss work plan and work-related
  • Establish linkages with the CHW program to support immunization services
  • Ensure that adverse events following immunization are notified and support investigation
  • Support the clinics in any other duties assigned by supervisors

Academic qualifications

  • Certificate in EPI from recognized training institution

Experience

  • Experience working in field of immunization as a Vaccinator
  • Previous experience as vaccinator with INGO is an added advantage
  • Good knowledge of immunization micro planning and report writing skills

Other skills

  • The Vaccinator should have a pleasant personality, good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Should be flexible, committed and dedicated.
  • Able to work with a variety of people in a remote setting
  • Independent, self-motivated, confident, interested in learning and committed to excellence
  • Literate in English language
  • Knowledge of Bengali (Chittagong dialect)/ Rohingya is a prerequisite
