We are looking for a young energetic, professional and efficient person to fill up this position. This position requires professional knowledge, skills and serving attitudes to work under the leadership of Relief Field Coordinator.

Position Title : Construction Supervisor (4)
Department : Humanitarian Response, Kutupalong, Cox’sBazar
Report to : Field Coordinator
Contract Type : Fixed-term
Time Commitment  : 6 months, probation 2 months
Working Hours : Weekly 6 days, Fulltime.
Start Date : As early as possible  

Position Summary: The Construction Supervisor (4) will support FH/MTI project activities under in Kutupalong Extension camp. FH/MTI will expand health clinic infrastructure to provide an extensive and coherent health service to Rohingya refugees. Four health clinics are to be constructed across central zones of Kutupalong, and FH/MTI existing health clinics will be restructured to host inpatient and overnight facilities.

FH/MTI provides 60+ Rohingya peoples, a stipend to provide community and construction services. The Construction Supervisor will manage direct labour under the guidance of the Field Coordinator.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, implement and supervise, ensuring all technical, financial and scheduling aspects, building and rehabilitation activities in the project, according to FH/MTI security protocols and under the supervision of the Field Coordinator.
  • Analyse the needs for construction / rehabilitation works and report to the line manager accordingly, including planning of (financial, technical, material and human resources that meet the mission needs).
  • Respectfully and appropriately manage Rohingya labour hires under stipend to conduct all construction activities.
  • Assist Field Coordinator in negotiation of agreements and permissions for construction / rehabilitation projects and establishing regular contacts with local authorities, Majhi’s, Religious leaders and GoB representatives of the RRRC.
  • Ensure the appropriate management of equipment and supplies. 
  • Maintain quality assurance and adherence to safe construction protocols ensuring compliance with international and local MOH standards and that construction activities are conducted in accordance with the highest standards.
  • Compile regular progress and technical reports from the construction activities for the Program Support Officer and Field Coordinator.
  • Assess, design and implement appropriate training to equip and upgrade knowledge and skills of health personnel.

Skills

  • Computer literacy, cashbook entry and receipt accountability, construction reports and recommendations.
  • Sound WASH knowledge.
  • Sound considerations for construction and building design in monsoon exposed environment.
  • English competency.
  • Language Bengali (Chittagong dialect)/ Rohingya.

Education:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering minimum.

EXPERIENCE

  • Essential 4 years of previous experience in similar roles.
  • English level 2 (B1 Independent).
