Job Description / Responsibility

  • Experience working in operations role using Red Hat Enterprise Linux / CentOS / SuSE in a high-availability environment
  • Oversee and support Linux Infrastructure
  • Automate systems administration duties utilizing Perl, PHP or Bash scripting
  • Configure and Install GRE Tunneling
  • Install and configure UNIX/Linux servers.
  • Troubleshoot and debug software (i.e., Linux, MYSQL, Apache, IPTables etc.)
  • Handling new IP ranges (keywords: subnetting, cidr notation, addressing)
  • Making sure Reverse DNS is properly setup. (keywords: bind, powerdns, reverse delegation)
  • Troubleshooting current ones (Keywords: Linux Networking, Networks, Packet Sniffing, tcpdump)
  • Responsible for the operation and administration of the company’s internal networks, servers,  email, VPN setup and network security systems.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support, training, and special projects.
  • Plans, designs and implements data connectivity for local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) systems and VPN connectivity.
  • Assists in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installation, backup, maintenance and problem solving.
  • Firewall administration and overall responsibility for company IT security.
  • Administration of email servers for company-wide email.
  • Setting up DNS server, Active Directory, DHCP server, IIS administration, SVN setup, TFS setup and administration etc.
  • Minimum2 years experience as a System Administrator in Linux/UNIX platform
  • Good programming/scripting skills (bash, perl, php).
  • Candidate should be expert in Computer assembling, troubleshooting, maintenance, software installation, LAN setup etc.
  • Experienced in DNS, WEB, MAIL, Proxy, DHCP, IPTABLES, and User Administrations in windows XP.
  • Linux/Unix kernel or Application Layer Protocols, Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS).

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree or above in Computer science/Engineering/Telecom from reputed university is required.
  • SCSA/SCSA Part-1 will be highly regarded.

  • Nominated mentors will guide them, coach them and train them on the job to shape up their competence operational expertise; knowledge and behavioral competences to enable them take up the substantive job as the “System Engineer” on successful completion of the traineeship period.
