EngenderHealth Bangladesh is seeking expressions of interest from highly qualified candidates for full-time staff positions on an anticipated new three-year USAID  project, which aims to improve the health and well-being of Bangladeshi adolescents by increasing  community support for their access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and other health information and services, and promoting delays in early marriage. Working closely with the Government of Bangladesh, the Directorate General of Family Planning, and other relevant USAID and donor projects, the project will support and build capacity to implement community-level activities towards the National Plan of Action for Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health in the target districts.

The Project’s key staff - Project Director, Technical Advisor for BCC, and Finance and Operations Director will be based in Dhaka, supporting staff and partners in the target districts.

The Project Director will have overall responsibility for project leadership, management and coordination of project activities and staff. S/he will facilitate the development and implementation of project strategy and plans, including M&E, and ensure excellent coordination and collaboration with USAID, the Government of Bangladesh, and partners and stakeholders at district and national levels. The Project Director has exceptional understanding of family planning, adolescent and gender issues, and a proven track record, commitment and passion for SRH services. S/he possesses an advanced degree in public health, medical or social sciences, international development or a related area, with at least 10 years’ experience leading, managing and implementing SRH projects, including five years’ experience working on adolescent health projects, preferably in Bangladesh. Experience of interacting with government agencies and counterparts, as well as international and local organizations is essential.  Fluent in spoken and written English and Bangla required.
 
The Technical Advisor for Behaviour Change Communication will be responsible for leading overall project efforts related to adolescent SRH programming, including community level behavior change communication and training of service providers. S/he will have proven expertise in behavior change communication and community mobilization, and a deep understanding and commitment to tackling gender inequalities. S/he has demonstrated strong management, coordination, teamwork, and planning skills, and ability to function effectively with multiple counterparts in the public and private sectors. The BCC Technical Advisor has an advanced degree in communications, social communications, public health or a related field, at least five years’ experience in international health, and fluent spoken and written English and Bangla.

The Finance and Operations Director will be expected to develop and ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project’s financial plan, including management of grant and contracting activities in line with USG requirements. S/he possesses an advanced degree in public administration, financing, accounting or a related field, with at least 10 years’ experience in financial and grant management. Four or more years’ experience working in developing countries with senior-level responsibility for administration and finance is highly desirable. Familiarity with a multi-office environment and non-profit organizations with USAID-funds, and knowledge of Bangla and the region are significant assets.
