 3. Tasks

Monitoring and technical support to the IFC programme in Bangladesh (85%):

  • Participate to meetings and other events related to the Maternal & Newborn Health, representing EdM;
  • Follow up activities (monthly) and field visits (including visits reports writing)
  • Participate to training activities and to oversee the training team
  • Manage, follow up and participate to monitoring and evaluation activities and meetings (assessment, self-assessment, etc.)
  • Monitor and coordinate the partner NGO/s involved in implementing IFC related activities
  • Liaise with Ministry of health and other national and international actors
  • Collaborate in proposal writing and to review programme reports by adding complementary elements of analysis (based on the monitoring activities and coordination meetings)
  • Collaborate to the EdM Bangladesh health strategy implementation and development
  • Give any kind of technical support to the IFC programme, at local and national level

Participation in the activities of EdM (15%):

  • Participate in institutional meetings of EdM
  • Participate to international events and to support and/or collaborate with other programs

 4. Job description
The  programme manager (Health) coordinates and plans his work under the direct supervision of the Country coordinator of EdM, and in collaboration with the Programme management coordinator based in Geneva concerning the health programmes. Moreover s/he conducts a continuous dialogue on technical aspects with the health advisor based in Geneva.

5. Qualifications and experience:
  • Master’s degree  in Public Health and at least 5 years work experience within a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Proven record of effective program coordination, planning, and strategy development, preferably in reproductive health
  • Demonstrable experience working with government officials and INGOs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Bangla
  •   Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to build strong professional relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to handle multiple work streams in parallel, set priorities, and work independently with limited supervision
  • Experience with research and survey 
  • Proficiency in MS Word and preferably SPSS
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
