Overview:

The Edward M. Kennedy Center for Public Service and the Arts (EMK Center) is an interactive American Priority Space designed for social entrepreneurs, artists, and change makers. Located in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, this is an initiative of the American Center, with overall supervision by the University of Liberal Arts, Bangladesh (ULAB).

PRELIMINARY REQUIREMENT:

  • Minimum U.S. 4 years Bachelor degree equivalent degree (major in any field of Business Administration, Social Sciences, Pure Sciences, Humanities, etc.)
  • Fluent in spoken English and Bengali
  • Well versed in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (particularly MS Excel & MS PowerPoint). Experience in compiling statistics and brief report writing
  • Minimum 2 years of operational work experience with relevant professional experience in organizing, administering and delivering training, education and/or counseling services
  • Strong written, oral and visual communication/presentation skills ­ experience in public speaking and/or debating will be of advantage, as will a thorough knowledge of the use of presentation software (MS PowerPoint, Prezi) ;
  • Ability to organize and manage cultural, educational, workshop and seminars
  • Apt understanding of logistics and event management requirements

JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS:

  • Monitoring Program activities and reports
  • Monitoring EMK web activity and new media presence and newsletter
  • Coordinate external programs and grants communication
  • Evaluate grants and applications
  • Assist different stakeholders in programming
  • Assist Center Director with preparing events, corresponding with external agencies
  • Coordinate with accounts, admin and EducationUSA with the aspects of programing
  • Coordinate EMK volunteer programs
  • Grant activity report monitoring
  • Coordinate the activities of reservation and scheduling
  • Coordinating program team
  • Maintain and program EMK Events Schedules and coordinate bookings
