Educo Bangladesh is looking for an “Accounts Officer” for ALOY-ALOW Project

We are Spain based global development NGO with more than 25 years of experience that works for the interest of Children and in defense of their rights, especially the right to a quality education. Our institutional philosophy (Mission, Vision, Values and Principles) is firmly established on a commitment in pursuit of Children’s wellbeing. We have three strategic development goals, which center on the Right to Education, the Right to Protection, and Governance.

In Bangladesh, Educo has been working since 1999 with aims to empower Children to express their views, ideas and opinions, and to exercise leadership. At the same time, Educo works with duty bearers, especially Parents and Local Government Institutions, to create an enabling environment for Children where they can influence the decisions that affect them.

However, Educo Bangladesh is going to launch a new Project at Moulvibazar, named “Accessing Learning Opportunities to the Young, Adolescents and Livelihood Options for Women (ALOY-ALOW: Lightening up and Be enlightened)", subject to the approval of the Government of Bangladesh. The Organization is now looking for an Accounts Officer of this new Project.

(80% at Project Office and 20% Field Visit)
Purpose Assist the team by providing efficient financial data management through ERP for the achievement of overall objective of ALOY-ALOW Project.
Engagement Closely work with Project Manager, ALOY-ALOW and other staffs for smooth day-to-day payment process and sharing required financial data. Deal with external vendors for various types of payment.
Delivery Check the documents make cheque requisition, update monthly basis data entry in ERP system and ensure all the bank payment related document are documented properly.

  • Checking the accuracy of the cost center of the bills before making cheque requisition.
  • Checking the accuracy of the activity mentioned in the bills before entering the data into the execution template.
  • Assist to prepare monthly fund request.
  • Assist the to manage the financial transactions in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the preparation of financial reports as required
  • Lead Process payments and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure all journal vouchers are complete, accurate, and relevant.
  • Prepare Tax and VAT challan.

Assist in ERP Accounting Data Entry
  • Assist in completing Monthly execution by entering data in Monthly EPR system within specified timeframe.
  • Administrative duties such as filing forms and reports.
  • Backs up important data files to secure storage system.

Office Stationary Management
  • Ensure Monthly utility bills payments processing such as (electricity, water, telephone, security, repairs& maintenance).
  • Ensure logistical support of Project Office.

Essential Qualifications:

Education Post-Graduation in Business Studies/Administration
Work Experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in Accounts.
  • National / International NGO experience will add extra advantage.
  • Required experience in Data Entry, Reporting, Documentation etc.
  • Work experience in Tea Garden and Haor area will be given extra preference.

Salary:  Monthly Take Home BDT 44,000; Plus: 10% PF, Yearly 2 Bonuses (1 on Gross & 1 on Basic) and Gratuity
