Educo Bangladesh is looking for a “Technical Officer” for ALOY-ALOW Project

We are Spain based global development NGO with more than 25 years of experience that works for the interest of Children and in defense of their rights, especially the right to a quality education. Our institutional philosophy (Mission, Vision, Values and Principles) is firmly established on a commitment in pursuit of Children’s wellbeing. We have three strategic development goals, which center on the Right to Education, the Right to Protection, and Governance.

In Bangladesh, Educo has been working since 1999 with aims to empower Children to express their views, ideas and opinions, and to exercise leadership. At the same time, Educo works with duty bearers, especially Parents and Local Government Institutions, to create an enabling environment for Children where they can influence the decisions that affect them.

However, Educo Bangladesh is going to launch a new Project at Moulvibazar, named “Accessing Learning Opportunities to the Young, Adolescents and Livelihood Options for Women (ALOY-ALOW: Lightening up and Be enlightened)", subject to the approval of the Government of Bangladesh. The Organization is now looking for a Technical Officer of this new Project.

Purpose Strengthen the capacity of PNGO’s so that they can adopt Educo’s Project mission and achieve the goal within the stipulated time.
Engagement The focus part of Technical Officer is the PNGO’s capacity strengthening, maintain a good relationship with community people, related counterparts and private sectors officials, explore for establishing linkage with the different organization working in the intervention area.
Delivery The Technical Officer will ensure the partners are implementing the activity according to the planning, ensure deadline of deliverables of Annual Operating Plan.

Capacity Development of Partners 2.1  Analyze partners plan in the implementation of activity and guide them accordingly for improvement.
2.2  Work with the Partners’ to identify and analyze gaps in partner capacity (sectoral and institutional), through the partner capacity assessment and during the implementation of the programme.
2.3  Evaluate Teachers' class conduction considering the implementation of quality education indicator and find the gaps.
2.4  Provide information related capacity development of Teachers.
2.5  Document mutual learning with partners in terms of Program delivery and partnership capacity building.
2.6  Liaise with partners to ensure that all required reports and deliverables are submitted by the partners and accepted by SCI on time according to the reporting schedules in the agreement.

Maintain Communication 3.1  Develop effective linkages and communication with different Management Committees, Tea Garden Authorities, Parents Community (PC) to ensure proper maintenance of activity.
3.2  Conduct field visit to monitor the progress of Projects and discuss challenges with field teams.
3.3  Buildup and maintain effective communication and linkage with the respective government.
3.4  Maintain communication with different stakeholders to explore the intervention and area of work.
3.5  Network with local, agencies; educational institutions; nonprofit organizations; and private sector business interests for future program development in coordination with Partners members.
3.6  Act as the communications channel to the Project Manager to Partner PNGOs

Report 4.1  Ensure that reporting templates are understood to comply with the donor’s requirements.
4.2  Liaise with partners to ensure that all required reports and deliverables are submitted by the partners and accepted by Educo on time according to the reporting schedules in the agreement.
4.3  Review partner’s reports and required documents and provide feedback as necessary.
4.4  Liaise with partners to ensure completeness, correctness and accuracy of their reports.

Provide Technical Supports 5.1  Provide the technical supports to Project staff (both partners and Educo) regarding the ECD, Pre-primary school and Primary School operations
5.2  Develop the training modules, schedule, conduct training and follow-up the training as per project activities
5.3  Support to produce periodical reports, case studies, success stories and other reports as per internal and external requirements.
5.4  Keep all the necessary documents related to training and project participants of various interventions.

Essential Qualifications:

Education Post Graduate in Social Science/ Education
Work Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in Education Program in work experience in Tea Garden and Haor area will be given extra preference.
  • Experience in supervision, monitoring, partner management maintaining effective communication with different stakeholders.
  • Proven working history of Community Engagement, WASH, Child Rights and Protection, Education, ECD, Disaster Risk Management, Livelihood, Women Empowerment, Networking is highly required.
  • Commitment to and understanding of Educo’s Mission Visions Values and Principles including Right-Based Approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to write high quality reports and other Project documents

Salary:  Monthly Take Home BDT 61,186; Plus: 10% PF, Yearly 2 Bonuses (1 on Gross & 1 on Basic) and Gratuity
