Education and Development Foundation-Educo is an International NGO that acts on behalf of children to defends their rights, especially, the right to receive quality education. It was founded on 24th February, 1994 in Barcelona of Spain and has been working in Bangladesh since 1999.

In Bangladesh, Educo currently has its geographical intervention in Dhaka, Narayanganj, Gazipur, Mymensingh and Moulvi Bazar. With its primary focus on quality education initiatives besides  organization also implements community-based  activities in the areas of Health, Livelihood, Child Rights Governance  and  Protection. The organization is involved in different networks and alliances to promote child rights and Protection through advocacy and lobbying.

  The organization is now looking for a Health Specialist.

Working conditions Based in Dhaka office with frequent field visit.
Purpose Provide technical guidance to health project. Design high quality health projects in consideration of the organizational goal and the situation of the stakeholder and local health service providing agencies and provide technical support which reinforces team capacity to achieve the set milestone within specific timeframe and allocated budget.  S/he will be responsible for exploration opportunity to contribute to the system for better understanding with local government.
Engagement Health Specialist will initiate, develop and nurture cordial relations with relevant government agencies, partners, and the wider stakeholder and represent Educo at relevant health related events/forum at national level to ensure Educo is acknowledged as a trustworthy partner/actor.
S/he will establish provide technical support to resource mobilization team , maintain good relationship with Communication team to provide key massage for visibility , keep connection with support team to have idea about budget execution, take initiative for advocacy issue and strengthen network in health sector. S/he will work for enhance capacity of staff. Maintain communication with different operation team , Monitoring and Evaluation team to oversee the work progress is  in line projected outcomes , collect best practices and sharing lesson learned. 
Delivery The Health Specialist will set indicator to strengthen the community engagement so that they are enabling to change their practice related to health, hygiene, WASH and nutrition, able to receive health services from nearby health service providing organizations and government bodies. Provide technical support to different team and Resource Mobilization Team. Support provide technical support in preparing Concept note , project proposal, support operations team to prepare yearly budget for health , Capacity building team and partners and develop advocacy strategies in the area of health to influence legislative bodies. Build and enhance network with different stake holders.

01. Planning & Budgeting
  • Prepare internal project plan and budget in a cost effective manner.
  • Provide technical support to Resource Mobilization team in preparing concept note, project proposal and budget and planning for  different donors.
  • Develop a comprehensive annual activity plan and guide for timely execution (physical and financial).

02 Project  Supervision
  • Monitor the set indicator and milestone of designed project are implemented accordingly and in case of deviation provide required support, as necessary.
  • Analyze data that collected from field by the field staff and ensure the proper utilization of the relevant knowledge for future improvement of the projects.
  • Apply innovative approaches and promote good practices and support to achieve concrete and sustainable results.

03 Capacity Building
  • Mentoring the team to ensure that the staffs are fully conversant with the activities, guidelines and indicators etc.
  • Staff performance evaluation and take capacity building initiatives.
  • Provide technical support to the team.

04 Partnership Management
  • Provide technical support to the partners so that they can have clear understating about the accepted outcomes of the projects.
  • Capacity development initiatives for the partners.

05 Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Maintain regular communication with monitoring team to ensure proper implementation of the project’s activities and objective will be earned.
  • Work with the team to determine the means to achieve expected outcomes/results.
  • Work closely with the Monitoring team ensure adequately capturing of  learning and best practices from the projects.

06 Communications & Networking
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other related NGOs/Government /Networks with the objective of raising public awareness.
  • Represent the organization by attending several external meeting/seminar /workshops at national level.
  • Develop and guide to implement of effective communication strategies to disseminate health information to different level stakeholders as needed.
  • Explore and maintain good co-operation / partnerships /networking for ensuring proper functioning of different services provided by government.

7 Report writing
  • Precise reporting on accomplishing indicator of key milestones of projects (quantitative and qualitative).
  • Preparation of all monthly, quarterly and annual reports.

Essential qualifications
Education
Master’s in Public Health (MPH), completed from foreign university will be given preference.
Work experience
Minimum 5 years of working experience in same level in Right based organization and experience of working with Government agencies will be given preference .
The candidate must have experience in developing health program with the involvement of community and local health systems.
Working experience in health related projects especially on WASH, School Health and Nutrition, Maternal and Child Health, Adolescent Re-productive Health in International or National NGO will be given preference.

Salary :  Yearly salary all-inclusive BDT  1,410,200 and submission of salary history is also essential.
