Development of Master Trainers on Return to Work (RTW) and conducting trainings to factory personnel

The German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) is the umbrella association of the accident insurance institutions for the industrial and public sectors (the BGs and the public-sector accident insurers respectively). It assumes responsibility for the common interests of its member institutions and promotes their functions in the interests of both member companies and insured individuals. The DGUV represents the statutory accident insurance institutions in their dealings with policymakers, regional, national, European and international institutions, and employers' and employees' representative bodies. In Bangladesh, DGUV is working closely with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH project on ‘Employment Injury Protection Scheme for Workers in the Textile and Leather Industries’ (EIPS). Within the cooperation, DGUV is looking for medical and vocational professionals to take part in a ‘Master Trainers Course on Return to Work (RTW)’ to conduct trainings to factory personnel on RTW later on.

DGUV invites (EOI) from training institutes or consortiums engaged in the area of medical and vocational rehabilitation. The interested institutes with the following criteria are encouraged to apply:

  1. Training facility to accommodate up to 30 participants for future trainings
  2. At least two in house certified medical and vocational rehabilitation professionals presently working – preferably with industry linkages to RMG and leather sector
  3. Experience in training provision in the field of medical and vocational rehabilitation, disability inclusion, Return To Work (RTW) and or similar areas

In total 04 institutes or consortiums will be selected to take part in the Training of the Trainers (ToT) Master course in Germany. DGUV and the selected training institutes or consortiums will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a sign of cooperation. It is expected that the professionals working in the institutes or consortiums will engage in the ToT up to two weeks in August 2019 and for further development of a curriculum for factory management thereafter. Upon selection of the institute and the successful completion of the ToT in Germany, 200 factory personnel will be trained by the four institutes and their affiliated master trainers through batches of 25/training. The factories will be from the Narayanganj, Savar, Ashulia, Gazipur and Chattogram areas. For pertaining the training, the institutes will be provided with financial support.

Interested training institutes will be required to submit the following along with a forwarding letter:

  1. Institute Brochure (for consortiums all institutes involved should hand in their brochure)
  2. List of relevant trainings conducted in the last three years
  3. Training material examples developed or used by the institute or consortium
  4. CVs of the potential master trainers clearly mentioning the current commitment with the institute
