| The Dhaka Electric Supply Company Ltd. (DESCO), a publicly listed Company engaged in distribution of electricity in the northern part of Dhaka city including Tongi Municipal area, seeks a qualified candidate from the bona fide citizens of Bangladesh for the Managing Director position on contractual basis for an initial period of maximum 3 (three) years. The contractual appointment is renewable on satisfactory performance of the selected candidate. | JOB DESCRIPTION | |||||
| The Managing Director is the Chief Executive Officer of the Company and reports to the Board of Directors. Subject to the supervision and approval of the Board, the Managing Director will be responsible for managing all business and administrative functions of the Company. The successful candidate will anticipate and manage organizational resources to meet the needs and goals of the Company. She/heis the leader of the management team of the company and responsible for the overall administration & management, controlling, coordinating, corporate planning and business development etc. with particular focus to good governance and corporate services on various administrative and strategic aspects. She/he will ensure discipline & good organizational culture and compliance of Law, Rules and Regulations in overall functioning of the company.

| REQUIRED QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND AGE | |||||
| Candidates must be Graduate Engineer or Post Graduate in Management, Social Science, Physical Science, Applied Science, Finance, Accounting or FCA/FCMA/MBA with no 3rd class/division (CGPA not below 3 out of 4 or 4 out of 5) at any level of education. The Candidate shall have at least 25 (twenty five) years of experience in large Public Utility Organization and/or large Private Sector Company including experience in the capacity not below the rank of Chief Engineer or its equivalent position in public utility organization or large private sector company. The candidate should be efficient, dynamic, energetic, show initiative & drive with assertive leadership ability that will ensure the vision and execute the mission for incremental growth of the Company and excellent communication skills in Bangla and English and shall be capable of working in stressful condition and managing emergency situations. Maximum age limit 57 (fifty Seven) years as on October 16, 2014. | |||||
| REMUNERATION/COMPENSATION PACKAGE | |||||
| The post carries a Basic salary of taka 1,00,000.00 (one lac.) only per month plus house Rent allowance @ 50% of the basic pay, 2(two) festival bonus every year, gratuity, contributory provident fund, group insurance, encashment of leave, reimbursement of medical expenses. Other fringe benefits will be admissible as per provisions of the company. She/he will also be entitled to a full time transport with fuel & driver.
