Democracy International, Inc. (DI), a USA based international organization, seeks experienced Program Officer candidates for the multi-year USAID Bangladesh SPL Strengthening Political Landscape program (SPL) promotes broader participation in politics especially among women and youth, improves the environment for responsive politics and promotes peaceful election process. The primary responsibility of the position will be work with Democracy International team to manage regional operations and programs.

DI is recruiting professionals for the following full-time positions for its Dhaka Main Office:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support program design and development; day to day management of program activities, facilitate and manage the program through cooperation of partners, manage and develop relationships with potential target group.
  • Manage different events in districts level as well as division level and maintain close communication and coordination with programmes tasks, support NGOs, local stakeholders and Government officials and ensure service delivery.
  • Undertake and coordinate diverse activities and priorities to ensure all annual targets are achieved maintaining high quality results.
  • Conduct field visits and monitoring to relevant activities in the field, prepare budgets for the program, support preparation of annual work plan and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports to ensure that all required documentation is maintained at field offices.
  • Arrange meetings, travel and logistics for ongoing needs of the workshop, program and conference.
  • Ensure program activities are completed as per organizational plans and donor requirements; conduct and arrange trainings, awareness sessions, meetings, advocacy related seminars and prepare quantitative and qualitative reports under the overall guidance of the Program.

Educational Requirements:

Master’s degree, preferably in political sciences/social sciences/ international relations/ development studies or any other relevant subject.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years demonstrated professional skills and experience in project coordination and manage;
  • Clear understanding of youth and women’s empowerment policies and programs in the political context of Bangladesh;
  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills both in English and Bangla;
  • Effective networking and interaction with public and non-profit organizations, including political parties, youth and woman organizations, volunteer groups, social forums etc.;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Prior experience with USAID projects, procedures, policies and reporting skills;
  • Excellent ICT and computer skills, especially MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and research on the Web;
  • Possess high level of integrity and maintain work ethics.
