Democracy International, Inc., a USA based international organization, is implementing a USAID project entitled Promoting Peace and Justice (PPJ) in Bangladesh for a period of three years. USAID’s PPJ program is designed to directly address the factors currently constraining Bangladesh’s justice system and seeks to collaborate with government and CSO counterparts to expand access to justice.

DI is recruiting Bangladeshi professional for the full time position Regional Coordinator for its regional activities in Rangpur Division.

Regional Coordinators (4 positions: Rangpur, Chittagong, Mymensingh, and Khulna)

Key Responsibilities:

The Regional Coordinator will be responsible for regional program design, development, and implementation. S/he will undertake and coordinate diverse activities and priorities, including field program operations and management, ensure program activities are completed as per organizational plans and donor requirements, conduct and arrange trainings, awareness sessions, meetings, advocacy related seminars and workshops, and prepare quantitative and qualitative reports under the overall guidance of the Technical Officers and Chief of Party.

Required Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Minimum Bachelors’ degree, preferably in Social Sciences;
  • Demonstrated professional skills and experience in project coordination and implementation;
  • Knowledge of and working experience in the Rangpur region;
  • Clear understanding of justice sector context of Bangladesh and the division;
  • Good analytical, written and oral communication skills both in Bangla and English;
  • Demonstrated expertise in networking, research and facilitation skills;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to handle logistics and program activities setup;
  • Excellent ICT and computer skills, especially MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and research on the Web;
  • Create and maintain budgets;
  • Knowledge of database management;
  • Display cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability;
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills;
  • Possess high level of integrity and maintain work ethics.
