Democracy International, Inc., a USA based international organization, is implementing a USAID project entitled Promoting Peace and Justice (PPJ) in Bangladesh for a period of three years. USAID’s PPJ program is designed to directly address the factors currently constraining Bangladesh’s justice system and seeks to collaborate with government and CSO counterparts to expand access to justice.

The PPJ program is recruiting a senior professional for the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager position. This is a full time locally employed position based in Dhaka.

Monitoring and Evaluation Manager

The Monitoring and Evaluation Manager (M&E) will work with the PPJ team and will oversee all internal M&E aspects of the program including implementing the M&E plan, keeping track of performance indicators, ensuring the data collected is reliable, and reporting indicator performance to USAID.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Manage full aspects of the project’s M&E plan;
  2. Collect, record, and analyze data with special emphasis placed on quality and efficiency, and maintain M&E database;
  3. Keep track of performance indicators;
  4. Report indicator performance to USAID;
  5. Help ensure the integration of USAID Collaboration, Learning, and Adaptation approach and principles into current and future programming;
  6. Help manage the project’s overall learning agenda to derive lessons learned and best practices from project activities;
  7. As needed, represent the project at external events and effectively coordinate with local CSOs, government, and donors;
  8. As needed, train PPJ staff and partners on M&E design, management and implementation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in social and economic development or related field; A Master’s degree preferred;
  2. At least 7 years of relevant work experience in M&E and previous experience in management;
  3. Experience with USAID M&E systems and policies required;
  4. Demonstrated record of successfully supervising an M&E evaluation team and producing high-quality M&E plans;
  5. Expertise in quantitative and qualitative methods;
  6. Strong analytical skills to collect, analyze, and synthesize data;
  7. Experience working with a range of government officials, donors, local NGOs, and academia;
  8. Proficiency in English required.
