Vacancy: Finance and Grants Associate

Democracy International, Inc. (DI), a USA based international organization, seeks experienced Finance and Grants Associate candidates for the multi-year Strengthening Political Landscape program (SPL) funded by USAID and UKaid. The SPL program promote broader participation in Bangladeshi political parties, especially among women and youth, encourage support for internal political party reform, strengthen the capacity of parties to access and utilize information and improve the environment for more responsive politics. The primary responsibility of the position will be work with Democracy International team and assist the finance and administration of DI operations in Bangladesh, under the supervision of Administration and Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist finance and accounting operations.
- Record financial transactions, book keeping, filing and archiving activities.
- Perform financial transaction records, processing bill vouchers and vendor payments.
- Coordinating and preparing the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Preparing timely monthly financial reports.
- Support all accounting operations including billing, cost accounting, inventory accounting.
- Support month-end and year-end closing process.
- As needed, facilitates and co-ordinates external, internal, donor or government audits.
- Support project's financial and grants management.
- Provide support to the project team in the development of partnerships with various stakeholders.
- Monitor and review partner bill vouchers, grant reports and operational tasks.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Develop and document processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Educational Requirements: B. Com / M. Com / Preferable Masters in Finance / Accounting.
Additional Job Requirements
- Minimum two years of related experience, preferably within a USAID project.
- Sound knowledge of Bangladesh vat and income tax regulations.
- Excellent command of English, verbal and writing.
- Proven integrity and thorough attention to detail is inherent in this position.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office including advanced expertise in Excel.
- Ability to work well within a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Well organized and ability to multi tusk and strong commitment to meet deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skill and problem-solving abilities.
