POSITION : Executive, Legal & Compliance, Damco Bangladesh

Position Summary: The Compliance Dept. is working to diagnose and develop enhanced procedures to ensure company-wide compliance with all regulatory, legal, financial, and core commercial requirements in accordance to the laws of the land along with group and local policies and regulations. This position will be responsible to collaborating with the Country Head of Compliance to plan, organize, and execute the company's Legal & Compliance activities to secure a sustainable business in Bangladesh.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting, Vetting and legal research
• Litigation Management and co-ordination with the lawyers
• To keep the company updated regarding any non-compliance issues and conduct investigation
• To identify and highlight critical high risk areas within the compliance regime which require immediate action to resolve
• Standardization and implementation of the policy, procedure and compliant process for Business
• Monitor statutory and regulatory compliance
• Conducting internal and external trainings

Education & Experience

• LL.B  (Hon’s) / LL.M
• Minimum 2 years of experience at multinationals or in a corporate legal environment
• Practical working experience in relevant field

Position Specifications:

• The position requires excellent English in written and verbal communication skills
• Sound knowledge on anti-corruption law, financial laws, contract law, labour laws, Company laws will be given preference
• Sound knowledge on legal documentation
• Strong knowledge of statutory requirements applying to the company
• Good inter personal & efficient communication skill, proactive, prompt action and quick responsiveness
• Knowledge of logistics/supply chain industry would be an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal sensitivity
• Good understanding of core business aspects
• Ability to think out of the box and should have diversified character with ability to work under pressure
• A systematic approach to his/her work, and who has a strong will to work across regions
