Concerned Women for Family Development (CWFD)

Concerned Women for family Development (CWFD) is a non- political, non- profit, voluntary, national level organization run by the women of Bangladesh for the women of Bangladesh. We work “Because Women Matter” to us.

CWFD emerged from an emotional response to help women in need of reproductive health care counseling. The organization started its voluntary activities in 1974 to help the refuge coming to Dhaka city after the devastating famine of 1974. The organization was registered in 1975 with Directorate of Social welfare and formally launched its project activities in 1976 with only 5 female staff to cover an area of Dhaka city slum comprising around 50,000 people.
Today CWFD is a large professional organization providing reproductive health care, empower community to exercise their rights to eliminate social injustice, creating economic opportunities, empower under privileged youth of urban and rural population and develop human resources for a positive social change. 

Name of Project: “Generation Breakthrough Project”

Project background:

In 2013, Concerned Women for Family Development received funds from Plan International Bangladesh to implement “Generation Breakthrough” project. This project aims to address gender based violence (GBV) in Bangladesh by establishing linkages to adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and gender equity, with a focus on engaging boys and improving relationship building skills. As a part of delivering adolescent friendly health services, Generation Breakthrough project will operate a helpline to deliver tele-counseling and referral services on sexual and reproductive health and gender based violence.  The primary target group of this helpline is adolescents aged 10-19 years.

Project Location: Project will be located in the Dhaka city, Barisal town, Patuakhali and Barguna districts Adolescent boys/girls aged 10-19 are the primary target group of this project.

Monthly salary: TK. 48,000/=  including benefit

Job location: Dhaka with extensive field visit

Principal Responsibilities

  • Manage overall project budget as per donor guidelines and in line with project’s approved budget from the donor agency for ensuring annual expenditure.
  •  Implement project activities at field level and monitors progress for maintaining delivery schedule with quality and on time.
  • Carrie out coordination, network, and liaison with donor agencies , national stakeholders, division, district levels for advocacies.
  •  Initiate defined activities for capacity building of project stakeholder and staff members at Field.
  • Supporting to the project field level staffs for proper planning, implementation and achieving the set targets of the project as per Result Framework and building the capacity of the relevant project staffs.
  • Maintain intervention’s database and produce different reports for project management.
  • Provide quality supervision to the direct reports for ensuring the desired level of outputs and their professional development.
  • Preparing and submitting quality donor reporting based on qualitative and quantitative achievement of key project deliverables on both software and hardware interventions of the project at community , schools & clubs under the Project Office.
  • Intensive tour to the Upazilla and Union levels of Barisal, Barguna and Potuakhali district.

Educational Requirements: Master’s degree in Social Science

Experience Requirements:  Minimum 7 years in relevant field (working experience with     adolescents for Gender based violence prevention and sexual reproductive health would be considered as added value)

Positive Requirements:

In-depth knowledge of working with local level government & school Management committee.

An ability to deal sensitively in a multi-cultural team environment and build effective working relations with clients.

Excellent computer skills especially on MS office programming.

Excellent command on Project Cycle Management and Development.

Skill on report writing; different types of reporting including case studies based on the M&E data analysis in a professional manner

Excellent command in writing and speaking English.
