Concern is implementing a nutrition emergency project for the Rohingya community named “Nutrition Interventions for Vulnerable Rohingya Communities in Cox’s Bazar in particular Children under five, adolescents; pregnant and lactating women” funded by UNICEF. This project will be implemented in the Ukhiya Upazila of Cox’s Bazar.

Currently, Concern is looking for a suitable candidate for the following positions:

Nutrition Project Coordinator: S/he will be responsible for the implementation of the UNICEF funded nutrition project implemented across different camps in the Rohingya response. S/He is expected to ensure timely implementation of the project deliverables as per the project work plan and to provide leadership and technical guidance to the project staff to ensure that the beneficiaries receive timely and quality nutrition services. S/He will be responsible for the oversight, reporting, monitoring as well as coordination both within Concern as well as with other implementing agencies. He/she will equally support in defining the strategy of the nutrition department and will work closely with the nutrition advisor in identying new opportunities for programming including proposal development and design of new programs.

Duty Station: Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar

Annual Gross Salary Range: BDT 993,972.00- BDT 133,2012.00 + other admissible benefits (festival bonus, hardship allowance, mobile phone allowance, health and life insurance and outpatient medical)
Contract Duration: up to November 2019

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Manage the emergency intervention projects as per the project proposal and budget. Set up management tools to ensure that the project is on time and on budget.
  • Undertake regular field visits offering on the job support and coaching to the project team in efforts to maintain program quality and meet the needs of the beneficiaries.
  • Coordinate and ensure that reports from project areas are received on time, compiled, analysed and submitted as required to UNICEF, Nutrition sector as well as internally. Work closely with MEAL time to ensure data quality.
  • Provide both formal and on the job training to field team in planning and implementing emergency response projects.
  • Ensure proper and timely budget utilization of emergency project. He or she will assist the project finance/logistics departments in tracking & managing allocated project budget, provision of financial projections, cash forecast and monthly financial reports to Finance he or she will equally contribute to budget preparation and revision as necessary.
  • Ensuring that staff are adequately trained and developed for their roles e.g. by analysing staff training needs, organizing the delivery of training or coaching, coordinating the sharing of experience.
  • Ensure that the necessary resources are available for the project and utilized effectively to implement high quality project for bringing positive change in the life of beneficiaries. Including, but not limited to: ensuring budgets and financial resource planning are in place for all activities within the project
  • Ensure that Concern Worldwide administrative, financial and resource management policies and regulation are understood, implemented and followed by all staff working in this project.
  • Ensure regular monthly monitoring of project budget utilization. Where variances between plans and actual expenditures arise, ensure justifications are provided and future planning is adjusted where required.
  • Taking the initiative to question unusual transactions; variations from established procedures or any practices which do not demonstrate transparency and accountability.
  • Authorizing expenditure according to authority delegation and Concern Worldwide financial policy and procedures
  • Ensuring timely production of quality reports for donors and Senior Management on project outcomes.
  • Ensuring that the project delivers high quality reports with agreed time line and format to demonstrate the project result.
  • Participating actively in team planning and other meetings, working to set common objectives and goals and striving to ensure these are successfully achieved. Work closely with other PCs to ensure integration of all nutrition projects within Concern Worldwide.
  • Ensuring that the project M&E system in place and activity review takes place with a systematic way for visualizing the project progress.
  • Enabling a friendly collaborative working culture within the team, actively sharing information and knowledge to enable the team to ensure effective learning and sharing across the organization.
  • Ensuring an opening ceremony/orientation is organized involving the govt. officials, local govt. elected representatives, civil society members including local journalists and informing them about the projects
  • Orientation of team member other stakeholders in particular the CRM. Liaise with MEAL to set up and sustain a robust mechanism that allows for an open communication with program participants.
  • Be aware of, understand and comply with all of Concern’s policies and procedures (P4, finance, logistics, HR, security management etc.) as well as the “Do No Harm” principles and Conflict sensitive approach.
  • Orientating partner NGOs and other stakeholders on the CHS, and in particular the Complain Response Mechanism (CRM)
  • Responsible to collect and document high quality case stories, good practice and program learning regularly for internal and external sharing

Key Requirements:

  • At least 3-5 years progressively responsible work experience in community based nutrition programme designing, management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  • Technical knowledge on community based nutrition interventions
  • Experience in managing different donor projects and working with government institutions. Proposal development skills will be a preferred asset.
  • Have good knowledge on Rohingya refugee programmes
  • Experience of managing financial resources and budgets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English is desirable
